I got 2 confirmation emails from the mote with two different rooms and access codes listed. I’ve stayed at their other property on Lake Superior and recognized the set up so I was optimistic about the stay. So much disappointment. First room was occupied. Second room had no outside light and the code didn’t work. Texting the provided number gave automated messages without solution and a phone call to the other number listed went to a neighboring hotel where I was given a totally different code. The employees on the phone were nice and the sheets were clean but that’s the end of the good list. The AC was from the 80’s and so loud (pushing 55 decibels, that’s louder than a normal conversational volume) and the floors showed every bit of their age with dirt. Visible dust behind the bedside tables and a visibly sagging couch. A hole kicked into the bathroom door was accentuated by missing tiles and no bathroom fan. Zero modern updates, despite their other property (The Birchy) costing less and having smart TV’s, mirrors, and wireless charging alarm clocks with white noise machines. And the Brentwood is up in the hills with zero view, their other property has a beautiful view of the lake. Over $200 for a single night at this motel felt like everything that is wrong with the hospitality industry boxed up into one old, dirty room.

Carpet needs vacuuming it was ok good location.

Do not stay here!!! I rarely write reviews but wanted to warn others. It was filthy and there is NO staff on site to help or we would have demanded a change in rooms. You get a code to enter- there is not any staff on the property. Our carpet was so filthy we couldn’t take our socks off. Couldn’t wait to get out of there and will never return!

It's sad what $97 (after taxes) gets you in 2026. The carpet was very stained and the room smelled like smoke but it had a screen patio door so could be aired out a little. The bed was not comfortable but for one night it was fine. I didn't have a dog with me this time but there is a nice big green space for dogs if you have one. Check-in and out was easy.

Floors filthy can reach a human to discuss will never stay here sgain

The staff was very helpful and friendly, however couldn't get the TV to work was tired so it didn't really bother me and went to sleep. They really need to use some stain remover on the carpets to refresh them. Bed were really comfortable and fresh.

When we showed up our door code didnt work and nobody responded for hours. When they did respond they said to call cedar motor inn. They should have told us to do that from the start. In addition, the bath tub faucet leaked the entire time and it was noisy. The sink was clogged as well. There werent enough towels. Nobody changed our towels even though we had the thing on the door asking them to.

It was likely a very charming place in the early 1980s, but is now primarily a long-term rental site (presumed) with a few rooms with minimal amenities for motel-esque occupation (there was a place for a desk in the room at one point, now removed, judging from imprints in the carpeting). No staff ever visible - all done by coded access to the assigned door, with a separate code when leaving, and a notice on the wall that the room is inspected before and after use and that they have your license plate on record (So Watch It!!!). The sheets and pillows (2) were clean, the floor was clean, the TV obscured the mirror, but it was functional, and the toilet was slow and the refrigerator (long overdue for defrosting) and microwave seemed to be original artifacts. Towel rack in bathroom broken; the hair dryer growled, shook, and then abruptly stopped and fell apart when used. Outside, the door was dirty, the steps to the second floor unkempt, all overdue for any amount of paint, the fire extinguisher outside could have been ornamental, and we did not linger past the mandated 10am departure time (in fact we left as soon as possible Sunday morning). The unseen managers did send a nice email listing of places to eat around Marquette. Note to self - plan much further ahead for bookings in Marquette during the summer months.

not like pictures Carpet filthy no stand for suitcases give a thumbs down

You get what you pay for. I did not feel comfortable in bare feet in my assigned room. I feel the room carpet should be replaced because of stains however the room lighting was poor so you really could not see the the entire situation. Pet friendly does not work unless rooms are properly cleaned between occupancies. I feel the properly is not closely managed nor is it inspected. The mattress was uncomfortble to the point I slept on the recliner. Furniture was badly stained and the refrigerator was not effective - needed defrosting. You spend the night here with remorse that you could not afford a clean room.

Room must have been double booked. Never stayed there. Want a refund

Awful experience. No person to check in with. Difficulty getting code to open the door. No chair at desk so had to stand up to use the computer . Towel bar in bathroom broken, Bathtub dirty.

The room reeked of smoke upon entering. We had to go and buy room spray and disinfectant to use but the smell wouldn’t go away. The carpet also had numerous large stains all over it. It was disgusting. Upon entering we immediately started looking for other hotels to stay at but there were none available. I would have left but we had nowhere else to stay. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone no matter what the price was.
