Super 8 by Wyndham Merrillville

Poor room quality lobby smells like cigarette.

Waiting 20 minutes for someone to appear at the check in desk. Room was not clean, all three soap / shampoo dispensers were empty and sheets were stained. To be expected I guess at this type of motel. Oh well.

This place is quite nasty. Dirty and not kept up. Crap all over the walls, not cleaned well at all, pillows with hair on them, and stains on the sheets. The beds were uncomfortable as well.

The only downside was the minimal breakfast that was served. The manager and staff were very helpful, kind, and friendly.

Great price for a quick overnight stay, and best of all my dogs were allowed 😀 👍.

The man at the front desk was nice enough-about the only positive thing I can say. The motel smelled like weed as soon as we walked in the door. Our bedding was worn and shabby and the bathroom door had been “patched” from damage. Booked online for a quick overnight & we left as soon as we could. Do not recommend.

Staff was able to accommodate my disabled spouse and located him a room on first floor. The only issue was room came with refrigerator which did not work. Staff helped to store my husband’s medications which needed to be refrigerated.

Comfortable bed, clean linens are a definite plus. Breakfast was cold cereal and hostess mini donuts. Police were called two out of three nights to handle domestic disturbances.

The toilet is wobbly, and when flush, the water would run for hours. The top latch is gone. Other than that, the evening staff Jennifer provide comforting and helpful service when the power went out. She is a joy to talk to. Thank her for excellent customer service.

Rooms are horrible not clean, the bathroom floor its dirty, towel are stain clean wise 1 out of 10 staff are okay, parking is good a lot of space

The smoke smell was awful. The breakfast bar was broken. Random people hanging out in their cars and lobby liked they lived there. Don't stay.

It was the dirtiest hotel I have stayed in. Didn't stay the second night of our reservation.

Hotel rooms were not maintained or clean. I had to ask for clean sheets upon arriving. Coffee and breakfast were not fresh and tasted disgusting. Don't let the low price entice you, spend the extra money for a better hotel!

For my first time there it was really good

It's old and pretty run down. Bare bones furnishings in the room. No coffee maker. Soap and shampoo dispensers in shower were empty. They did provide one (1) small bar of soap. Breakfast? Juice dispenser was out of order. No fruit. Dry cereal and mini donuts. For some reason I thought the name Wyndham meant the property would be better maintained. I was wrong.

Did not end up staying the hotel was so bad

Price was okay for the condition.

Didn't feel safe. Besides the location being sketchy so were the other hotel guests. Once we got in room ,we locked our door and aid prayers for our safety and for our belongings, including car. Usually love super 8 so hopefully just a fluke. I will not book before I go to city first. Front desk was ok.

The tub was disgusting I didn’t dare step foot in there. There was a roach in the sink. Dirty linen, slept in the chair that I sanitized on my own. If it’s your last resort of a stay then go ahead but honestly would sleep in my car before here again.

The floors didn’t seem to be properly mopped so i wore shoes/socks the whole time. the bed sheets had some stains and were a little scratchy likely from wear and tear. The mattress was rock hard, absolutely nothing plush about it. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who needs a half way decent mattress to sleep. The air conditioning worked but was incredibly loud. The TV has a good number of channels but there’s no paper channel guide in the room so you have to go to the channel guide channel and wait as it slowly goes through the channels to see what to watch. The dead bolt on my door was partially broken. The “free breakfast” was literally just dry cereal and juice. no yogurt, eggs, waffles, etc. There were a number of trash cans around the exits of the facility that were overflown with trash for the two nights i spent there, they were never emptied. On a positive remark, the location is in a good area, I didn’t see anyone lingering around. You’re walking distance to a great diner and across the street from a mall. Also I did not see any bugs in the room or the shared spaces.
