Comfort Suites Merrillville near US 30

Staff was friendly. Property needs some updates and better cleaning. Breakfast was decent.

Every thing was fine except for breakfast, there were no eggs or sausage available, no cups to use.

The internet didn’t work, they had hardly any good for breakfast other than waffles. The general restrooms had no soap, no toilet paper, no paper towels. It’s just a dump. The staff was useless and unhelpful it was clearly ran by the owners who are cheap as can be

They never answered the desk phone. Breakfast ends at 9am. The bathroom in the hotel room was old, outdated, dirty, and unkept. The elevator stopped working during our stay. There was so much chlorine in the pool water that it changed the color of our swimming suits and burned the kids eyes. We had to ask for new towels and washcloths each day during our stay. The key card had to be programmed almost each time we left and came back to the hotel. I would not stay here again ever!

For the cost this was very disappointing. Hotel was dirty. Didn’t even have clean sheets. The breakfast was one of the worst I’ve ever seen for a hotel that cost over $200 a night. Definitely will never stay here again.

Computers were not working and check in took 45 minutes. No one said hello or apologized for our wait. We were then given a musty smelling room with wet carpet and we asked to change rooms. The new room had dirty sheets left in the pull-out couch. We were told they could only give us one extra pillow and no one came to collect the dirty sheets. Breakfast was sparse, machines were broken and normal items were not even out. The carpet is dirty is many spots, the rooms are not being properly vacuumed and the management staff doesn’t seem to care about the customer’s experience. It was embarrassing for my family and a huge disappointment- also a lot of money for a hotel in this condition. I will not stay there again.

It's supposed to be until 9am And it was less choices for breakfast menu it used to be way more choices That's the only thing that I didn't like about my stay

The room size was more than what was expected

Hotel was worst I ever stayed in. Arrival at 9 pm, no one at desk. Rang bell no answer. After 10 minutes agent showed up. Went to room where AC was set to 60 degrees. Shower was filthy. The drain was partially plugged and from a shower it took 15 minutes to drain water. Breakfast was sub-standard. Bed was clean, rest was filthy. Never book here.

The manager was rude my toilet wasn’t working and woke up that morning and could not take an shower because the water wasn’t working just an all around bad experience

Trash outside in the parking lot and the rooms are VERY dated and sub par. Lamp shade was broken and there was a lot of nasty looking stuff in the bathroom sink. Sheets were paper thin from high use. The AC made a terrible noise all night though it did work. The water would not run the next morning so we were unable to shower or flush. Plus, they demanded a $100 deposit even though the room was paid for in advance. I would avoid. The only positives were the staff seemed very nice and it was cheap. But, it was cheap.

I took pictures of everything and tried to discuss with the manager, to no avail since I had booked with a 3rd party provider (Expedia). I was told that Expedia does not usually refund money. We will see. Because every hotel in the area was filled with Merrillville residents displaced by a recent tornado, I was unable to get a room elsewhere. We had to return to the prepaid Comfort Suites. I slept fully clothed. Sprayed both beds down with bed bug spray. Wiped every surface with disinfecting wipes. Did not bathe in that tub. Got a room the next day at nearbyTRU by Hilton - difference between night and day! Oh, I was also told by the manager of a different facility that the Comfort Suites property had been closed by Indiana fire marshalls and had only recently reopened. My advise: Do not stay here! P.S. Did I mention that the "pool" at Comfort Suites is literally IN THE LOBBY!? Water all over the lobby by guests who using the pool. Hazardous!!!

rooms not very clean or well maintained and neither is much else from lobby/elevator/dinning room/pool. no shampoo or conditioner in the shower containers took forever to get a few clean towels. glad it was only a few nights and not more. elevator sounds like it will quit working any day. pools are so over chlorinated you can't see the bottom and you'll be lucky to get a towel. coffee machine broken. no continental breakfast on monday morning at all. profanity and inappropriate symbols carved into elevator door and above our beds in the room. overall dirty, unmaintained. few staff i dealt with we're polite but also not very helpful. would not stay here again for the price paid.

Hotel was ok, the rooms were clean but the pool area needed some improvement. Also, my card was charged 100 for incidentals and they never gave me that money back. This was my second stay there over the past 6 years and while the first was not the greatest either, I decided to give them another try. I won’t be staying there again.

We arrived at 2:35pm and was told the room was being cleaned. At 3:15 the room was still unavailable, and was told it would be 10 minutes before room was clean. The room was still unavailable and we didnt receive a key until 4:58pm the room that say they were cleaning had stains on the couch and floors. The pool had too much chlorine in it it had the consistency of milk. The elevator is turned off at night for some reason so you have to take the stairs. The staff at night is nowhere to be found and when they did show up to the front desk she was rude and not accommodating. I understand they maybe short staffed but when guest are arriving it doesn't look good that the trainee is just standing there looking at us as confused as we were.

Stayed one week. Room was never cleaned. Spoke to front desk twice about the problem. It was never resolved.

Staff not helpful and some rude

The elevator was broke. I didn't like the attitude of the staff person at the front desk. Also, my bathroom was dirty. Some of my sheets were not clean and I brought this to their attention, and it seemed like I had a problem with them for the rest of my stay. I really did not like that and felt I should have had some sort of reimbursement for all these inconveniences.

Front desk not very helpful. Refuse to give change to give a tip for cleaning lady. Free breakfast is limited. No coffee at breakfast cafeteria.
