The only down side was that we paid for street view room, however when we arrived at check in, we were told our room was still being cleaned, we were told to wait about an hour - we did, and the room was still not clean. We were then given a room that was facing an alley in the back of the hotel. The elevators were broken so we had to go up 2 flights of stairs got to our room and the key fob was not working. Luckily the staff there was really nice and one of the helpful cleaning staff opened the door for us. We didn’t have any problems after that. We did receive a complimentary champagne bottle for troubles.

Very good

Could have skimmed the down stairs pool better that's the only issue

On day 2 they took our towels out of our room and made us late to our event. It isn’t bad for a sleep space if you’re never there. I wouldn’t stay in my room 24/7

I felt the most bamboozled after this booking, for starters the photos that are listed on the property site are well dated. The rooms look nothing like the pictures, the rooms are in fact dated with paint chippings, a lingering musty smell, and you can tell that there is no upkeep. There is absolutely no central AC, it’s 2026, window units are not enough as the heat especially in summertime is well increased. The staff wasn’t very helpful at all and they don’t mention that there are three different building’s, in which the lobby is in the middle so you have to continually walk to that building if needing something because there aren’t any phones in the room to even call the lobby. Small face towels were not offered or even given, I had to ask four different people before I even received the slightest answer. I get that there are plenty of foreigners in the area, but they were acting as though they didn’t understand English at all. Also, the bar staff were begging for reviews before they service you at all. I wanted a cup of ice and could not get a cup of ice unless I left a five star review and he argued back-and-forth with me. No five stars here I will give -5 if I could.

I came here twice so far to celebrate my anniversary. I ordered the balcony room but the balcony wasn’t accessible. The balcony wasn’t really a balcony at all unless u were a toddler and the door to access it was not accessible. I felt like like that was false advertisement considering the fact that the balcony rooms cost more. The furniture in the room was dated and not modern. There was a lot of noise outside the room and a person sleeping downstairs in the dining area. Only one elevator was accessible and the rooftop pool had dirty and old furniture. I won’t stay here again but the location where the hotel was is fine. The valet for guests is highly expensive and overly priced. I’ll try staying somewhere else next time.

The staff at the valet parking seem to hate their job. Getting my car was like they were doing me a favor.

Good place to spend a week or so. Great location and friendly staff.

The room wasn’t clean. There were roaches in the bathroom and all over the room. I booked for a suite with pool view and I didn’t get that. They also canceled my booking without letting me know and once I got here they told me I could rebook but I would have to pay again. Thanks to expedia since I booked through them, they were able to talk to them and get us our reservation back. The staff wasn’t the friendliest and they didn’t want to listen to what I had to say.

The rooms just extremely dated and some doors don’t work properly. Noise in the rooms as they aren’t sound proof so 9am pool party noise your up like it or not. Shower was broken and had low pressure.
-
Dirty room and pools with hair inside. They didn’t change our bedsheets after 4 days and we had to ask for sheets to change them ourselves. Waited 2 hours in the lobby for the sheets. Staff kept saying to wait a little longer. Didn’t stay there on our last night since everything was dirty so we had to change hotels. We were told to write to the manager about this and about the fact that we didn’t have a safe in our room so we had to carry all our belongings with us since we saw reviews saying that the staff steal from people. Terrible hotel. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND!

The rooms need a major upgrading. I am sure they have made enough money to change some things. The rugs are dingy. Change it to fake hardware floors easier to clean. The windows in my room were off alignment. The table slanted. I was disappointed in the room. The staff were helpful. The location is perfect. The AC did its job.

Elevator didn't work made for a terrible experience for bringing in suitcases.

This was my second time staying at the Catalina. It's very nice for the price, friendly staff, great location, and quiet.

At the time of check-in, our room was already ready, so we were able to settle in right away and start enjoying our stay without any waiting. I especially want to recognize the front desk staff, particularly an Argentinian young lady who was extremely kind, professional, and attentive throughout our arrival. Her excellent service made a big difference in our experience. We had a wonderful time during our stay and would definitely come back. Thank you very much to the entire Catalina Hotel team for providing us with such a pleasant experience!

The only good thing about this hotel is the location. Besides that, rusty irons in the room, no coffee maker, old building, strong smells in the lobby. I won’t recommended, specially for those who travel with kids.
