The Local House

We only stayed for one night before driving down to the keys for my birthday but we really enjoyed our stay at The Local House. All of the staff were incredibly kind and they even blew up balloons and decorated our room for my birthday. Considering how busy the area was, the rooms were incredibly quiet and the bed was super comfortable. The only complaint we would have is that the bathrooms are slightly outdated in comparison to the bedrooms but other than that, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend The Local House to anyone looking to stay in South Beach.

Very nice location. Hotel is rigid with check-in and didn’t stick to their own timeline. Couldn’t check in even a second early unless requested in advance (and approved). They made up for their delay nicely, but the rigidity around the check-in is noteworthy for those visiting from out of town with kids or baggage or both. Despite being late to have our room ready, our room was not in optimal shape. The bathroom could have used more TLC and there was trash in the closet still. The pool area was nice, although not in tip-top shape. Restaurant/Bar staff was nice and friendly, but not particularly attentive. The room overall was very nice, shower was good, bed was in good shape. Plenty of towels, nice balcony, and comfy pillows. Staff were amicable.

The rooms comfy, the rooftop a hidden gem, brunch and happy hour we kept coming back to. Also loved the partnerships for beach lounging and yoga classes. And location, of course. Can't think of anything.

Our favorites were the beach access , roof top pool, and the smell as you enter the lobby! We need to know how to get that scent! The location was also very quiet and walkable to several nearby restaurants. We were sad to leave.

Great place - close to the action without being right in the craziness of south beach. We liked taking walks down to the southern tip of Miami Beach near Smith & Wollensky’s - it’s a lot quieter there. We enjoyed brunch at the Local House two days in a row; our room was clean and spacious; and the rooftop pool was a nice getaway. I would stay here again.

Excellent location. We wanted to be close to main Ocean Drive area while prioritizing silence during night hours, because we went with a baby. And this hotel is exactly at that place. So, you'll enjoy main tourist area very close to you while at night you can rest comfortably without any noise close to the hotel. Room was big and very comfy, it made us feel at home. After 10PM, there's no one anymore in the hotel. Unfortunately, our flight delayed for 4 hours, so we arrived at 11PM. Hotel still contacted through phone/message to coordinate the late arrival. Instructions were clear regarding how to enter the building and enter the room. Still, I'm accustomed to hotels always having a reception, even after late hours. Overall, this is a minor thing that just impacted on arrival; hotel always made the best to ensure I would be able to enter building/room.

The rooms are bright, airy, and beautifully designed, with a calming beach‑house vibe that instantly puts you in vacation mode. Thoughtful details—plush bedding, spacious layouts, and serene color palettes—make it easy to unwind after a day in the sun. Many big hotels in Miami feel busy and loud, but The Local House offers something rare: peace. The rooftop pool is a standout. It’s intimate, quiet, and offers a perfect escape from the bustle of South Beach. Whether you’re lounging with a book or enjoying the skyline views, it feels like your own private oasis. And the restaurant—wow. The food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Breakfast here is a must; the kind of meal that sets the tone for a perfect day. The cocktails are equally impressive, crafted with care and ideal for sipping on the terrace. Best of all, the location couldn’t be better. Steps from the beach, close to great dining and nightlife, yet tucked away enough to feel secluded. It’s the perfect balance.

Close proximity to the beach and lots of restaurants Pool could have been a bit bigger and maybe a bar at the pool.

The room was beautiful and very clean, and the rooftop/pool area was really nice. I also loved that beach chairs and umbrellas were provided for free at the beach as part of the stay package. Did not love the "security deposit" I had to pay at the beginning of my stay. It was refunded, but was I charged an extra $100 per night upfront, which added a level of unnecessary stress to my stay.

Perfect as always. Our fifth stay here and wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else.

The rooms esp the bathroom is not well maintained.

The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. It’s 5 minutes walk from the beach. The Wi-fi actually works in this hotel compared to other 5-star hotels. The main restaurant down stairs had excellent breakfast, main course and desert. The light+ventilation sensor in the bathroom was behaving strange. The light was turning on and off randomly. For a short stay it wasn’t that annoying.
