Holiday Inn Express Miami Airport Doral Area by IHG

The bathroom is not acceptable. the wash basin is separate at the entrance of the room, and the toilet and shower are too small, approximately 5 foot by 5 foot ( the length of the bath tub X 2. the extractor fan was really noisy

I could tell it was an older property, and was leary when walking down the hall to our room, but the rooms were a nice size and very clean. The breakfast was great and hotel was walking distance to nice restaurants, shopping and entertainment areas. Would choose again, but suggest they do more upkeep of public areas.

When we turned on the air conditioning, a large amount of dust came out and triggered the fire alarm. We reported it to the front desk ourselves, but no one seemed concerned about the alarm. If it had been a real emergency, that would have been very worrying. The breakfast was quite limited, consisting mainly of eggs, cream cheese, yogurt, and bread/bagels. Coffee was available throughout the day, which was a nice touch. Overall, there are hotels much closer to the airport for a similar price. Many of them also offer complimentary early check-in when rooms are available instead of charging an additional fee.

Air conditioning

The hotel information states that it was the "airport" HI Express and that it had a shuttle to and from the airport...what it did not way was that you had to call and request pickup from the airport. When I did call, it took over 45 minutes for a shuttle to arrive. Several other HI Express shuttles came by on a frequent basis. The staff was quite rude, from the first encounter with the front desk clerk to the person who checked us out the next day. The outside of the building was kept neat and clean but the interior showed its age and was not well kept. The button for the elevator's first floor was so damaged you had to try to push it several times to get the elevator to acknowledge it. The water provided in the lobby was only available for a short time and the bottle was not replaced for several hours. The only true positive thing about this hotel was the location.

The airco was noisy . The shuttle left us at the airport as he never stopped at the pickup point after you exit the airport.

First of all, it’s not at the airport. It’s out of the airport number two very deceiving their shuttle stops at 10 o’clock and you are let stranded. I have to take an Uber to the hotel. The front desk person was not nice. He put the phone down when we called them what should we do about getting there? I would not stay at this hotel again.

Located within walking distance to a few restaurants and shopping. Nice pool area.

Arrived super early and was offered the option to check in early for a small fee. This was extremely helpful as I had kids and a bunch of luggage with me.

I had to go at least 15 times to the reception to recode my room key, as almost every time I was out of the room, the key was no longer recognized. The only apology was "talk to the manager."

Useless hotel as a stop over before it cruise. It was a nice hotel overall. The breakfast was great with a lot of different options. The coffee was good. The staff was super friendly. The mattress was a little firm from my liking, but don’t let that deter you. Overall a good hotel.
