The biggest concern was that the hotel did not provide beach umbrellas and chairs at the beach and we had to rent an umbrella and chairs- the night staff was very kind and accomodating

We were woken up this morning at 5:30am to flooding coming in through the ceiling from a rain storm. The filthy water got in my son’s suitcase and got all his clothes wet. All of it needs to be washed. None of the windows locked properly. There was mold everywhere. The toilet didn’t flush properly and the sink didn’t work. We were offered a $40 credit by the hotel for our luggage being ruined. I would like a full refund. We are beyond disappointed with the service of the Penguin hotel. We have videos of it all and it will next go on YouTube and all social media channels if they do not resolve this. Thus far Hotels.com has told us it’s too late because we had checked out of the room. This is completely unacceptable.
-
Another frustrating issue was the complete lack of communication. Multiple phone calls and messages were sent over the course of 3 days, but none were ever answered. Being unable to reach the hotel before arrival made resolving questions or issues impossible and significantly impacted the overall experience.

Great stay

Cool little art deco hotel on Ocean Drive. Friendly staff - cool amenities
-
Grumpy front desk attendant. Held onto our items in a back room until our room was ready. When she gave us our stuff back, she wouldn’t let us check if everything was given back. Ended up keeping my daughter’s hydro mug… when we tried to call to get it shipped to us. No one will ever answer and can’t get a return call back,

Great staff! Very friendly!

Excellent place! Would stay here again hands down. This would be a 10/10 the only thing that was an issue was the elevator. There is only 1 and it takes forever. That’s was the only issue we had. Their sister property that you get pool and bar access too was amazing. If you wanna quieter setting the pool on the property is still a great choice.

Loved the terrace all to ourselves. Location was perfect. Can't beat the view The balcony door fell off track a bit. Could have been more clean in room but not terrible

A experiência foi fastastica. Vamos are o ronaldinho gaucho andando na rua de carro

The location is great. The sheets/ bed appeared clean. The hotel is old and run down. It smells like mold. It seriously needs updated. The pictures are deceiving. The breakfast is over in the hotel behind the penguin, which tastes so bad. You have to walk thru the alley to get there. I was not happy but my room was non refundable.

Lobby was too cold but nice.

Check in was not friendly and directions were unclear. Room was supposed to have a “large mural” and it did not. Room was not updated as the website said. All amenities were at the “sister hotel”. Even picking up our valet car was at the sister hotel. No accommodations for the closed street and having to move all out bags through the alley to get our car. Ice machine broken.

The room looked like it was in disrepair. The mirrored wall broken and messed up. The glass shower doors could barely slide and felt like they’d shatter if you tried to open them. The wall unit AC was loud and sounded like it was ready to break. The only good thing about this hotel is the location. Wouldn’t recommend
