Comfort Inn & Suites Michigan City South

The comfort inn in Michigan City is terrible. Low water pressure in the shower. Shoddy work on plaster in bathroom. Poor service staff. I definitely would avoid this place.

Clean rooms, looks like they are doing repairs and upgrades to the outside. Parking lot needs attention, but all around excellent stay!

The breakfast itself offered a good variety, and the sausage, orange juice, and waffles were good. Unfortunately, the dining area did not feel particularly clean or comfortable. We also saw people associated with the hotel walking around the food area in street clothes, including someone who was barefoot in flips. (Just Ick.) Our room had a few positives. The refrigerator, microwave, TV, and bathroom all worked, and most importantly, the beds were very comfortable. The hotel was also quiet, so we slept well. Our biggest disappointment, however, came when we experienced a family emergency and needed to leave a day early. We asked if we could check out early, even offering to accept a penalty. We were initially told that there was no manager available who could approve it and that the manager would not be available until the following week. Then, ultimately they completely denied our request. Given the circumstances, we found the response very disappointing and lacking in compassion.

The area was not the nicest and the parking lot seemed a little unsafe. The rooms itself were not very clean or maintained. The pictures were lopsided and one had a broken frame. Not a lot of water pressure in the shower. The breakfast was adequate but subpar. I would not choose to stay here again.

To be fair they seemed to be trying to renovate the property. At the entrance you’re hit with powerful incense smell. Our room was a mix of musty and heavily incensed room. We would not stay here again.

Old and run down. Unpleasant odor. Thin walls- noise from hall and next room.

The property needs updating. The price was too high for the condition of the property.

The pool is not heated and permit on the wall expired in 2024. They may have an updated one just not posted. Every day when I got back from being out and about for the day, the key cards didn’t work so I had to go back down and get them reprogrammed. The bed and pillows were comfy though. Not the best but not the worst. If I had to I would consider staying there again in an upgraded room.

Scary hotel. Dirty and poor upkeep of property. Ready for demolition . Bugs in bed some type of beetle and carpet a disgrace, just plain filthy.

This facility was in rough shape- in room and outside building. Grounds were unkept. Would not recommend.

The room smelled like mildew.We had to wait an extra hour past our check-in time to get into our room. The complimentary breakfast is really disgusting. The eggs were really running. The sausage links were overcooked. Even the bagels were a little hard. One of our blankets on our bed had blood or something red on it. There was literally somebody wiped poop on the bathroom wall. The hotel is very rand down and staff is not very attentive. Most definitely would not recommend staying there, and my family won't be back.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The property however smells so bad of cat pee, mold and some kind of air freshener to try to hide the smell it was making me sick. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable, however two tiny pillows for a kind size bed is ridiculous. If you are sensitive to smells don’t stay here! Also my friend’s room, the toilet seat was not even attached to the toilet.

Disgusting property. We had a bag of dirty towels in our room. Barely any water out of the shower head/ only warm water no hot! Our door barely opened and closed without throwing body into it. Staff was absolutely rude as they get. We told them about our room and did not apologize for how disgusting it was. Parking lot was full of trash. 0/10 would never stay here.

Property definitely needs improvements

The entire property felt damp and there was a strange smell like something flooded.

The cleaning staff left linens in the hallways overnight. The carpet in the hallways were dirty. There were remnants of previous bed bug infestation that didn’t get completely cleaned up. At their breakfast, they served eggs and sausage that was left over from the previous day. On a better note, the staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms other than the bed bug remnants was reasonably clean.

The hotel smelled horrible! the carpets were filthy. Breakfast was unedible. 1 ice chest for 4 floors and it leaked. The shower has mold on the grout. The hot water was cold. Plus no water pressure. The tiles were cracked and broken. We were left 2 large towels, 2 hand towels and 2 washclothes for 4 people. The shampoo and conditioner were empty (I brought my own!) The front desk was non existant. There was a phone number to call, but no one answered. bed sheets were clean and no bugs on a postitive note. There are newer hotels to pick from in the same block,
