This Motel had people living in it. Doors on the outside, the photos are from when it was Ramada back in the day. There’s not even a check in desk. I had to check in on the other side with a different motel. It’s absolute trash and I can’t believe it’s still open to the public period. How it has anything more than a 1 star rating is beyond me. I wish I could give it a 0, false advertisement at its finest. No comforters were in the beds, we didn’t even have towels or batteries for the remote for tv. Claims there was a book, let me tell you they had drained it and it was a creepy ghost town where the indoor “pool” was. That area should have been closed off or locked to the public due to safety regulations. Horrible place for $85!!!! Ridiculous & disgusting Tear this pile of garage to the ground & start over. EVERYTHING needs fixed, redone & upgraded. Get it together and post the pics of what it actually looks like. Outside doors are definitely not advertised. Making it look like a nice place to stay. Super dirty and as stated before people live in these rooms as they were sitting outside their rooms when we arrived and all night long..

This place does not exist. It is a scam. Beware! It has not physical place and you will meet no staff.

STOP!! Don’t book this place!!!! Do not believe the positive ratings!!!!! It’s the worst hotel i have ever seen!!! you will regret booking here! My stay here was by far the worst experience of my life. The entire hotel was trashed and dirty. The staff was very incompetent and didn’t seem to care about our needs or our concerns. Pulling up to this hotel already seemed a bit rough because of how dirty it was outside and around the building . During our walk to this room on the other side of the building we saw trash everywhere. There were old mattress, trash on ground in the hallways, everything smelled, it was just disgusting everywhere, and the room did not get any better. we entered a room that was already given to someone else, we were moved to another equally disgusting room. dirty carpet tub stopper was broke. This hotel should truly be condemned!!! We were affected by the storm and had little option to change plans but i would rather sleep in my dark house than to have stayed there!!! I will be contacting officials to condemn this hell hole of an establishment

I was unable to find this hotel . The address was a closed restaurant. I called the phone number associated and it was a disconnected number..

The hotel is no longer called Michigan City Inn. It’s now a Comfort Inn and it’s in separate need of upgrade, especially the exterior. Based on the outside of the place we would not have chosen to stay here except for the fact that our reservation was non refundable. It’s shabby, needs paint outside and inside. The ice machine is new and wasn’t even turned on when we arrived but the manager turned it on and it was full by the next morning. The room needed painting especially around the window but the window was new (still had plastic and a sticker on it). It was a comfortable room but there was nothing soundproof about it. The towels were nice and soft. The room smelled like some type of incense which was obnoxious but we became accustomed to it after a while. The lobby reeked of bleach. Slept in so we did not visit the breakfast area.

There was no office. Front of building including restaurant appeared shut down for renovations. No sign out front. Trashy people hanging around various places outside, so I left and found another place to stay.

Couldn't find the entrance and Never checked in. But Expedia wouldn't let me cancel. So you can imagine how pissed I am.

Dont go here....its a den of iniquity.

Michigan city inn wasn't accessible. No entrance visible. However the comfort inn which was the building to the south seemed to be connected and honored my prepaid room and I stayed at comfort inn instead. I really liked the room layout the bedding was very comfy and the staff were accommodating to my needs and gave me an extra 30 minutes to shower quickly and check out as I was away from the hotel since early in the morning working nearby. Michigan city inn has no clear lobby or place to check in. Rooms look like some people are living there.

Nothing the place is run down. I didn’t like anything about the property

The facility just changed ownership. The new owners are now upgrading and fixing everything. They are exceptionally responsive.

The place is presently in a state of flux and repairs...a bit run down, but perhaps management is slowly sprucing the place up. Our room WAS clean and reasonably spacious. The lobby had various implements/"works in process" stuff in there - and nobody was awaiting you at the front desk (obviously, they're running a VERY lean staff). We had to telephone them from the number at the desk and then have them come in 2-3 minutes. But perhaps that's one reason they were the lowest cost facility we could find that weekend. If you're looking to simply shut your eyes and have a place to sleep - it makes for a good value. If you want a very nice and pleasant place to stay, and stay around your hotel alot (with kids or not), this would not presently be the place until they complete further renovations...
