Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort

Our experience at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort was absolutely AWFUL. What was supposed to be the first day of our vacation turned into hours of frustration, confusion, and incredibly poor customer service. You could see that there was LACK of any training. We took a 4:00 a.m. flight specifically so we could arrive early have an extra day at the resort, and not waste our vacation traveling. When we arrived, we were told our room wasn’t ready and that we would receive a text as soon as it was available—supposedly within an hour. They didn’t ask to keep our luggage suggest a restaurant on property etc… We explored, had lunch, and returned 2.5 hours later, only to be told the internet was down and there was nothing they could do. When I asked what would happen if the internet never came back, the three employees at the front desk literally said they had no idea and told us to “just come back.”After another 1.5 hours with no text, we returned to a packed lobby. We were finally told they could check us in using a “paper method,” but the staff seemed completely lost. One supervisor told me that if I had a complaint, I needed to take it up with Expedia. I explained that this had nothing to do with how we booked (we didn’t use Expedia)—it was the resort’s HORRIBLE customer service. He seemed completely dumbfounded, excused himself, and never came back.After nearly an hour, we finally received our room—only to discover the door code didn’t work,they had given us the WRONG code.

Senddestin resort was big and beautiful you did not have to drive if you didn't want to. They had transportation. Also, you could rent golf cart or bikes to ride.

Great stay at Luau in Sandestin Resort! Wonderful, clean, and comfortable room with a balcony. 5 min walk to beach and a pool and hot tub on the ground floor of building. Nice and helpful staff. Close the dining and shopping. Would definitely stay here again. Only minus was a squeaking noise in the half bath (but can't really complain because the extra half bath was a pleasant surprise 😀).

Although it wasn’t my first visit, the check process can be a little confusing for first timers. Once we were settled in the condo itself was pretty nice. The view of the beach was beautiful. I do have one negative thing to add: our neighbors next to us had their tv playing music pretty loud on and off throughout our trip at different times: from 6 am til after midnight. The walls were pretty thin & we could hear their conversations clearly. We had to call maintenance late at night to ask for them to turn down the music and they were at first putting up a fight about it and maintenance had to call security. The staff did handle the situation the best they could and we appreciated it. Other than those two things, I literally have nothing but great things to say about staying here. The grounds are beautiful, the amenities are plentiful, and everything is close by. The pool was such a fun time, along with the beach. It is an amazing experience, I highly recommend it for families, couples, or friends.

When we checked in, we were presented with our cards for checking in with written room number, floor number, building name and the gate code. We went to our room, changed and went down to the pool. When we returned to change and head out to dinner, our electronic card would not open the door. All of our belongings were in the room, and we could not get in. I text the number provided and never heard back from anyone. I then called a phone number I found online. The person on the other line insisted we were in a room on the fourth floor and were at the wrong room and was rude to us. We knew it was the right room but while she was on the phone went up to the room on the fourth floor and the key did not work. She then put us on hold for a long time and finally came back, somehow unlocked the door and allowed us to enter the room on the third floor to get our belongings and move to the room on the fourth floor. She stated that the room on the third floor did not have cable which is the reason we were moved to the room on the fourth floor, only no one contacted us to let us know about the move. We were disappointed with the room as it had all the setups for a kitchen in the cabinets, but no kitchen or table to even eat at if we were to eat. We were very disappointed and will not stay at the complex again. This was supposed to be a special occasion as it was our anniversary and we were very disappointed.

The unit was very clean We had to pay a cleaning but we were still told we had to take out our own garbage.

The check in went smoothly. Staff was attentive and courteous. The pool at Westwinds was large and spacious. The beach was clean white sands. The building has four elevators, so never a long wait time. The shuttles ran regularly and provided access to the entire resort property.
