Asilomar Conference Grounds

The front desk staff was very kind and helpful. The cafe staff was a bit rude, but it was end of shift so maybe it was just a hard day. It was an ok stay for kind of a lot of money.

Enjoyed our room with outdoor patio area. We saw deer & a variety of birds. The fireplace made our stay cozy.

Convenient access to beach. Beach volley ball courts, boardwalks, and fire places provide ample space for outdoor activities. Friendly and informative staff. Allows early checkin if the room is ready.

Very relaxing

This is basically an upscale version of camping (IE, you're not in a tent, you have a private bathroom, and a real roof over your head). The different lodges vary in terms of wear and tear, which initially put us off, but very quickly the charm of the location, the value (1/2 what anything else was), and simply accepting the 'we're at camp' vibe made it one of our favorite stays. Now we want to come back with our extended family!

The location was perfect to access the beach. The rooms are outdated. No TV in room or common room, toilet would continue to run if you didn’t shake the handle, they didn’t refill the body wash container in shower.

The hotel is old needs some up date in the rooms but it’s on a great location Beautiful view

Truly loved this hotel. The room was very clean. The staff were super helpful. Parking was easy. Didnt get to enjoy the pool but I can’t wait to be back!

Fri night live music was not enjoyed. At least it ended at 9.

The bed was very comfortable The place of the motel is nice quite and close to the beach But The room was not well clean There were ants The faucets were in bad shape making difficult to control the flow of hot/cold water There was not tv No microwave Toiletries were ran out in sink and shower

The room was very poorly up kept lots of dust on the blinds and the lamps there was mold in the bathroom and grime and handprints on the walls the curtains don't open all the way and there is no air flow or ac and windows don't open all the way, we called to request a fan and they said they didn't have any and hung up on us. The grounds and beaches are very beautiful and it looks nice on the outside but the inside is very outdated and musty.

We spent two nights at the Asilomar conference center. The location is excellent - just a walk off the property to the state beach, and the amenities at the conference center was excellent, the main hall was so nice to hang out at in the evening with pool tables, piano, board games, and outside fire pits. The rooms on the other hand are super basic and look like no improvements since the 70’s. There were no fridges, kettles, one tiny pillow each, and for that reason we would not stay at this place again. Staff were all helpful and nice!

Our room was in desperate need of renovations and repairs. There was black mold growing around the bathtub; the carpet clearly hadn’t been changed in decades. The wood threshold leading to the bathroom was rotting away with rusty screws heads sticking out. Our bathroom amenities like the shower gel and shampoo were empty. We requested refills or replacements of the amenities but they were never addressed during our entire 4 day stay. During checkout the desk clerk refused to give us a receipt for our stay, stating we needed to contact Expedia for a receipt.

Atmosphere is great. Rooms are dated

Our room was clean and comfortable, and we were delighted to see deer and wild turkeys outside our window each morning. We really enjoyed the breakfast options each day.
