Beautiful location, lots of activities, check out classic boardgames. Great way to connect to nature.

I stayed there about five years ago. Was hoping they had made updates and remodeling but sadly, no. The room is very old and amenities are virtually none. Shower was scotching hot no warm option. There was mold around the shower pan. The fridge has a timer 2hr for freezer and 3 hour for fridge. Are you kidding me ? There was also no microwave on the premise, not just in the room. I understand that it’s a conference center but don’t advertise it as a hotel if you’re not going to keep up the rest of the hotels near by.

Do not stay here if you are expecting a hotel experience, as these are hotel prices

The room was dirty from the walls to the floor the bed looked clean but was a bit sketchy about it so bought a bed sheet. When I first walked in to check in it was fine but I gave them my itinerary #and they kept saying i wasn't in there system and my name wasn't popping up had to call Expedia and they were only able to find me then. I not sure 🤔 how it took a phone call to find my booking when I gave the same number to Expedia and they had no problem. Honestly it was a bad experience beginning to end.

    The location

We love this historical property an would return often if we lived close by.

Room was clean, a few spider webs on the top corners of the windows. staff was nice, helpful, and friendly. Ice machines were down, required to go to 711 for ice. beautiful location.

Beautiful stay at Asilomar. My room was very clean.

If you are not paying attention there are no TV's in the rooms. There is also no AC however it is nice and cool with the sliding door open. If you want to leave and close it up it could get a bit stuffy. The rooms are old and smell old. Not all of the outlets in the room work. The bathroom door did not shut all the way and I had 4 in our room so that was a bit bothersome. They left 3 towels for a room with 4 occupants. I ordered more and they did bring extra pretty quick. On the positive side the beds were pretty comfortable with that it is the only positive for this review. I probably will choose differently next time I book.

I booked a room through Expedia that had pictures of a more modern room with sliding doors going to a patio and I got an old room with old furniture that hasnt been remodelled since the 70’s. Very uncomfortable. The premises is huge and only has 2 fire pits for hundreds of guests. I didn’t get to sit by the fire. I told the front desk clerk that my partner has a vision disability and they put us up stairs to carry all the luggage. They told us to call Expedia to complain and they didn’t have any other rooms and I couldn’t cancel. Very unsatisfied with our stay.

Our experience with the staff was a little confusing, particularly regarding breakfast. We received inconsistent information about where to get breakfast tickets, and at around $20 per adult and $15 per child, the offering seemed fairly minimal. We ended up eating off-property instead. The Friday night barbecue and live music were definitely highlights and created a fun atmosphere. Our room was charming and fit the property's rustic character, though the beds were quite small and not especially comfortable. It felt more like a glamping experience than a traditional hotel stay. The pool was great for our older child, but families with toddlers should know there isn't a shallow end, it's more of a lap pool. Overall, we had a pleasant stay, but for the price, I expected a bit more in terms of comfort and amenities. While I wouldn't necessarily choose to stay here again, it was still a nice experience and the location is hard to beat.

Room was very musty, no air conditioning or didn’t seem to work. No TV in room. Not a good place to stay when you need uber at night! Very dark and not easy to find your room.

There was no coffee maker in the room, no microwave, no refrigerator, No air-conditioning. The water flow was poor. The lobby didn't offer coffee either. The rooms didn't have a phone to call the front office and it was like a 7 minute walk to get there. The pool was like a 15 minute walk from my room and it was not well taken care of. There is also no Jacuzzi. The carpet in my room had used thootflossers which makes me think it wasn't vacuumed. The restaurant they have is only open from 6 to 7:30pm, they only serve one menú and you need to walk to the lobby first and buy a ticket for your plate before 6pm. The property all together looks very run down.

Location is good you can walk to beach

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

Toilet wouldn't always flush properly and made noise most of the time. Very annoying at night, especially.

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

Very dirty room except for the bed that’s the only reason why I stayed, but it was honestly very very dirty

Beautiful property, and the beach is just a short walk away, which was a big plus. Unfortunately, the room was very dated. The carpet looked old, there was only one working outlet in the room, and the light fixtures and paint color felt like they hadn’t been updated since the 1970s. The beds were uncomfortable, and the sheets had stains, which was disappointing. Luckily, we were only staying one night. Overall, the room did not match the price we paid, and I don’t feel it was a good value.

The environment was beautiful. The views of the sunset were gorgeous gorgeous the people were very nice welcoming. We did have very noisy upstairs guess it was reported to front desk and nothing was done to get back to us. Requested more towels in the morning and had to request for them again in the evening. Trying to find parking was extremely difficult.

It was a cool space on the exterior but the rooms felt a little run down. It gave me the sensation of being back in a college dorm.
