Rosedale Inn

The bathtub jets did work in my room. The sink was and tile looked nice. The TV, microwave and mini fridge worked. The bed sheets and towels were clean. I can't recommend the Rosedale Inn due to it's worn down state, and the rental amount isn't worth what you get.

Clean big room. Nice place to stay

The Rosedale Inn was super conveniently located, a few minutes from Asilomar Beach and a car ride away from Old Monterey. The room was big and comfortable. We very much enjoyed our stay there.

Admitted to us by the desk clerk, we had the worst room on the property old, peeling wall paper, toilet handle that came off,tv remote that had problems-not quite as advertised.

Secluded, quiet, front desk guy was super nice. Will stay again.

Quick checking/out! Had king ste w/electric fireplace (500sq.ft).Huge 2 rooms!! The most comfy bed /4 pillows! Had jetted tub-so nice! Little kitchen (maybe 15 ft )area-refrig/microwave/coffee maker. But huge separate w/electric fireplace (not much heat) desk & chair & another Tv in room-(husband could watch soccer! Close walk 2 trail 2 Asilomar Beach! Saw deer walking on wooded area road close 2 hotel! No breakfast-but close 2 Victorian Corner Cafe- great cute little cafe-great food! W/6 outdoor tables! Would stay again!!

We loved the location . The hotel is older and dated but super clean! The staff were actively working towards improving the property.

Jacuzzi tub, we loved it!

This little place is a peaceful gem in Pacific Grove! The gentleman working the front desk reception was very friendly and welcoming, and my checking in and out was smooth and easy. He said they are doing an extensive upgrade to the whole property...cool! With such a great serene location back in the trees and so close to Asilomar Beach, no doubt the end result will be wonderful! I will definitely be back to the remodeled Rosedale Inn!

Pros: Very courteous and helpful staff. Walking distance to Asilomar State Beach. Bus stop right in front of the property. Nice gas fireplace and amenities and a comfy bed. Cons: No breakfast. Weak shower head. Funky odor in the room from either recent construction or mildew. The wall paper was peeling.

I could not get a receipt from the manager or owner and he hung up on me three times and won’t give me my deposit back

As for the room itself, after having booked their highest level 2 room suite, we walked in to find wallpaper peeling off the walls, the bathroom window handle broken off with the window in the open position (we had to stuff a towel in the window to keep the bugs out), and a "jacuzzi" bathtub that was filthy and rusted. Pacific Grove is a beautiful town with nice, friendly people. But DO NOT book this horrible lodge if you plan to spend time there.

I’ve stayed at the Rosedale for years and I’m saddened to see the state it is currently in. It looks like the current owners just don’t care! The bed was terrible because it was so old and worn out. The TV in the bedroom was not functioning properly and when I tried to change it with the one in the living room I couldn’t because the base was glued to the dresser it was on. Peeling wallpaper in the bathroom looked terrible and the tub area needed to be sealed. It was once the place to go but with the current conditions we won’t be going anymore!

We have stayed here before and enjoyed the facilities. It is a short walk to the beach through the conference center. the rooms are comfortable with a small kitchen counter for coffee, a small refrigerator, and plates, etc. We found that on this trip there are updates needed in our room. Wallpaper was peeling, the rug had black duct tape securing it and the TV needed office staff to help us get it to work. I hope that if we stay there again, we will have a room that is in good repair.

Overall, the room was clean and comfortable. The property and the room itself could use some updating. The floor looked like it was recently replaced and was very nice in the foyer and bathroom. The color tv was not working correctly as the picture was mainly black and white with some red streaks and sometimes blurry. We did not use the fireplace, and couldn't figure out how to turn on the AC. The ceiling fan worked and helped keep the room comfortable.

I have stayed in at least 30 hotels on the peninsula and this was sub par to say the least. The owners need to do a major renovation! The walls are paper thin - you can hear everything! The room smells like an old musty house with no ventilation. There was a ceiling fan but no switch to turn it on. The windows were missing a latch and screen. Wallpaper falling off. I wasn’t sure if there were cobwebs or black water damage on the ceiling. No amenities - 1 pkg of coffee. A couple of stirrers. And worst of all a very, VERY old lumpy bed! Look elsewhere for sure!
