Beautiful and peaceful with the Trinity River just out of your backdoor. We will definitely come back.

The staff was truly the best part! Very accommodating and super nice people! The rooms were clean, bathrooms were spotless and had everything you could ask for. Great stay will come back again!! Thank you very much

We didn’t like the bathroom. The roll in shower had grab bars but no place for personal products. The bathroom towels were hanging on the grab bar in the shower when we checked in, so they got wet when we turned the shower on. The bathroom had no robe hooks, no place to put wet bath towels. The water in both the shower and sink took at least 5 minutes to get hot in the morning and evening. Very wasteful. The volume on the t.v. Is limited.

Easy to beach access. Affordable . Quick check in and out . You get what you pay . Will comeback again

I asked for downstairs' room because I am a handicap and was so hard to go upstairs but they didn’t pay attention and gave me an upstairs’s room.

We enjoyed our stay at Deer Heaven Inn, it's very clean and well maintained. Proximity to the beach is excellent and in a very quiet part of the city. The staff is also very friendly and helpful.

Deer Haven was just what we needed to explore Monterey with our kids.

So close to the beach and beautiful dear roam the area!

This is an older property, and it shows. We had a downstairs room and we could hear every step, scrape, chair and more from the guests upstairs. It's built around a small car park and you will hear every car that comes and goes all night long. If you';re looking for a good night's sleep you may want to look elsewhere. That aside, rates are decent for PacGrove, and it was very clean. Upcharge to have a dog in the room, which I always find a bit of a ripoff--

To start with, our room was not ready when we got to the hotel and it was check-in time. If the maid was just finishing up that would be fine, but the room was wide open, the bed unmade, dirty towels everywhere, and no one in or around the room. It made me flashback to a time I tried to rent a room in another city and was told I would need to change the sheets myself. Yikes! I went back to the office and the desk clerk didn't know where the cleaning person was. I asked if they had another room available and she said they were completely booked. So I told her I wanted a refund. Instead of obliging me she called the manager who promptly told me room 105 was available (I thought they were completely booked?). I asked what floor and she said the first. So I followed her to the room and found it clean and decided it was better than trying to find another hotel. My mistake. Turns out the room was right next to the laundry room so we had laundry carts and garbage bags outside our door the whole time plus the noise and the smell. The room had no A/C and was hot, the toilet seat very loose, the bed hard as a rock and about 4 feet off the floor (what is up with that? Lol) and we had to buy our own pillows as they provided couch pillows. On top of all that, the amenities were very, very basic. For the cost of the room they could at least throw in a bottle of water! Last but not least none of the drains had catchers so be careful with your jewelry!

Nice place for one night

Do not stay here, expensive for what you get, dog friendly and not just downstairs as I was told by front desk. Dogs yelping everywhere, kids running back and forth on top story for hours at night and starting up at 650 am despite manager being aware but did not speak to patrons. Came back to room in evening no service, no towels, was told I could bring my garbage and towels down to main bldg but should have asked for room clean at check in but was not advised to do so. They give you plastic clear water cheap cups for coffee. Asilimar at corner and across street with loud noises from their patrons. This is no better than motel 6 save your money!

Could walk to Asilomar and Beach.
