Monterey Bay Lodge

We enjoyed the pool area and the room was very nice

One night stay. Clean room, great staff in the office at check in. Even gave us water bottles! Comfy beds. Small shower stall. No AC. We found the back door slider was unlocked, that was scary. We got stuck in the most outer facing room, where we were closest to all the traffic where two main streets intersect, not quiet at all. Plus the upstairs guests above us decided to march up & down their room at 6am. If you want rest, peace & quiet, don't stay in room 123! Parking on that side of the complex is almost impossible to get out of, surrounding spots just too close, requires a 4 or 5 point turn to not hit anything.

2. Given worlds smallest room, looked like converted store room, toilet leaked, no a/c. 3. Moved to larger room after 1 1/2 hours of doing work myself on phone. 4. Larger room not much larger, shower head was loose with mold or mildew built up on shower floor. 5. Could only stay 1 night they wouldn’t transfer my 3 day reservation to another room since they made me cancel it in order to move me to larger room with no leaking toilet, had to spend half next morning finding another place to stay.

They don't return the deposit money without giving you an explanation.

Great pool!

The room was clean and quiet. It had a lovely patio outside with a firepit. Parking right outside the room was large enough for my giant suv. About a 15 min walk to the fisherman's wharf. 10 min walk to the beach.

Everything was great. Friendly and helpful staff at the reception. Rooms were super clean. Only downside is rooms got really hot on the 2nd floor during summer now and we left the windows open for whole night as the rooms were extremely hot

Location, location, location! This hotel has a great location, close to the beach, fisherman’s wharf and Cannery Row. The grounds were really nice and tidy. It’s a quaint little hotel. The room was clean but small and very noisy. The room didn’t have an A/C unit or a fan but with the windows open there was a nice flow through the room. Which in return brought in a lot of noise from the outside. Noisy neighbors with heavy feet, you hear it all. Anyways, the price was right for the location and a place to stay.

Second time staying here. The first stay was nice. No problems at all. This stay was frustrating. We got into town an hr. early and decided to stop by to see if we could use a restroom. After explaining to the woman at the front desk we were checking in in 1 hr and that we just needed to use the restroom from our long drive she said no. I pleaded with this lady due to an emergency to please just use a restroom she showed absolutely no care or worry about my family or our need. Totally unnecessary for a paying patron to be denied. We stay in Monterey a few times a year and unfortunately we won't be booking here anymore. It's weird that a hotel would throw away guaranteed income in the future over not letting a child use the restroom. Definitely your loss..not mine.

Great place to stay. Very comfortable.

Perfect place for a night or two with kids. Clean room and sweet little pool plus hot tub; cozy atmosphere and everything you need for a simple and comfortable getaway.

Beautiful and convenient location, will definitely come back. My mother in law kept asking me to save it on my maps for next time! 😆

in our room , it never had any suds , so it was hard getting suntan lotion off .

Our only complaint was only 1 chair in our room & did not like the soap! Otherwise it was great!!

Enjoyed our stay here very much, very pleasant and well located. Room was great. Would stay here again. Monterey is awesome and we were within walking distance to shops and amenities.

Room was very basic but had everything we needed, including a fan. There was no ac in our room, but with the window open and the fan on, it was quite comfortable. It was about a 10 min walk to Fishermans wharf where we were able to catch the free trolley into cannery and the aquarium. After a long day, the hot tub was very relaxing. Overall, would stay here again if I find myself back in Monterey.

Very welcoming and comfortable beds. Would definitely book again!
