Red Lion Hotel Monterey

Went to the front desk and stood there for several minutes waiting for these items while the front desk was unattended. No courtesy or apologies for the poor experience was offered.

From the moment we checked in, the customer service was disappointing. After a 4–6 hour drive, my family and I arrived tired and overstimulated. My mom, who has a strong Guatemalan accent, asked the front desk if the rooms were clean. Instead of responding kindly, the receptionist appeared visibly annoyed, as though my mom’s question was an inconvenience. Even if it seemed like a simple question, a polite response would have gone a long way. When I checked in, the reservation included two rooms booked through Expedia—one under my name and one under my fiancé’s name—but they were part of the same reservation. When only one room appeared initially, I explained that the second room was under my fiancé’s name. The receptionist again seemed visibly frustrated that she had to look it up, even though there was no line behind us and we were the only guests checking in. After locating the second reservation, we mentioned that we had a dog since the hotel is advertised as pet-friendly. The receptionist put her hand on her forehead and rolled her eyes. At that point, my sister noticed the repeated attitude and asked why she kept rolling her eyes. Dated property but location is good. Near to everything. Needs major renovation.

Ok room. Needs cleaning in tub tile.Beds good. Staff friendly. Easy parking. Great location. Water level too high in toilet. Good heat and air-conditioning.

The lady at the front desk was of no help. She didn’t know anything if you asked her something. She seemed to be in a bad mood. It’s not my fault she got the Night Shift.

Anyways, she did do something right and left a note that I wanted to complain to the manager in the morning. Next morning, a different staff was in the front desk and she goes ahead and tells me that they gave me a One Hundred discount that was taken out from my total. I thought this was nice and at least they are doing something, but this still didn't take away the rudeness I felt the night before. I really hope they retrain the staffs how to speak to customers and fix their problem because I hate giving a bad review too.

It was not a three star.I would maybe rated a two star.There were so many other ends along munrous avenue.We should have chosen, but I thought a three star red lion name brand would work.But don't stay there

We’ve come back-and-forth as a couple and with our littles and every time we love it it’s very inexpensive which everybody can afford the kids love the pool. It’s just a fun family outing hotel

The room was not clean. It looked as if the floors were not swept.

ac was loud and useless, wifi was not available, staff wasn’t caring at all either.

For the price , this should have been a wonderful experience. I would have been better off at motel 6. At least they have cleaner rooms and new beds. This place was dingy not very clean. The pictures are AI enhance. Making it much better looking then what it really is. I do not recommend staying here

Staff was friendly. During our nite stay there was alot of banging.. sounded like someone was moving furniture or construction site all night long. .

The room was very comfortable, large, and clean. The woman who checked us in had no eye contact, did not know how to smile, was not friendly at all. A real turn off. The bathroom sink needs a stopper. Breakfast was a joke.
