Sonesta Essential Morgantown

I've been staying here over the years whenever I am in the Morgantown area and it seems to be declining. The room sink didnt have cold water, only the hot worked. The shower pressure was very low. There was no ice and when asked at the desk as instrucyed by the sign ion the machine, he told us "we must have run out". How do you run out of ice? Breakfast was pathetic. Sausage patties. That;s it. Nothing else except. a few bread items and stale cereal. When I asked about the eggs he said "they didn;t make anything else" Very pathetic. I pobably won;t stay here anymore. Ive seen too much decline over the year.

Nothing No ac or heat no remote no microwave lights are poor no parking lot lights towels were folded wet No cable poor lighting inside Very run down and not pleasant

We liked the price. The staff were friendly. They had good homemade cookies at night. That is the only good things I could say The beds are very uncomfortable. We were given only two towels and one washcloth. We asked for more and were told that they would bring them up but we never got them. Also one of the towels had fresh blood on it. When we were leaving we checked the bed to make sure we didn't leave anything. After looking in the bed found a old used cigarette filter

The mattress was the worst. Had a plastic cover that had broken and was sticking me through the sheet. seemed to be old and sagging. Would be a nicer hotel with some upgrades.

The staff was great ! The room could have been a little cleaner. But when I was taking a shower my husband flushed the toilet the water in the shower stopped completely!! The next morning he flushed the toilet and there was no water in the shower he went to take one and waited 10 minutes and only a very little bit was coming out. This was room 117. The outside the grass was about 1 1/2-2 foot tall the rock area had more weeds then rocks. The lot needed a good going over. And last the lot has no lights at night it’s pitched black not one light!!

The breakfast was honestly not edible. It tasted horrible . The bath tub has huge cracks in it and u can literally hear water suction through them. Half the bulbs was blown. The TV was awful. They only thing enjoyable about being there was the lady that was there when we first got there. She was so nice. Also the beds was like rocks. It was awful The beds,the room wasnt what was pictured, the bathroom, The breakfast.

I spent several minutes waiting for someone to show up to check me in. When the young girl arrived via the elevator to the front desk, it appeared she’d been off troubleshooting another guest’s problem. She got me checked into Rm. 120. When I entered, a wall of heat hit me even though the AC was set to 60. The hallway was MUCH cooler. There was fast food trash in the overflowing garbage can and a used napkin on the counter. A dirty towel was on one of the beds. At the front desk, the girl struggled to find a replacement. She went upstairs to check and said 208 was clean and the room was cold. When I got there, I thought I heard the TV. As I tried to open the door after unlocking it, I found the door barred and people were inside. Back at the front desk, the girl determined she actually checked out 221! When I got there it was empty, clean, and cold🎉! Well, there was a paper wasp on the ceiling in the corner and a praying mantis above the bed. I love wasps and mantises, so that’s okay. The hallways had a bad smell to them, but the room was fine. The lady at the desk in the morning changed my room assignment from 120 to 221, so they wouldn’t try giving it to someone else. Would I stay again? YES! Friendly, helpful staff, great price, eventually a comfortable clean room with a couple of friendly roommates! What more could you asked? BTW, the parking lot was “sketchy”, but I had no problems.

The price was good and the staff were friendly The facility was in decent shape but the room was not great. Black mold in bathroom, musty smell, tv super old and didn’t work well with the remote. Bed was okay but a bit too soft.

Location Coffee, tea, cookies at night, breakfast just basic Easy parking but not well lit Nice common space Smelled like pot in halls. Room musty and moldy smell. Not very clean- bathroom esp. Just needs serious attention. Fridge and micro in room nice. Bed and bedding comfortable.

Disappointed the fire safety door didn’t close completely on the 1st floor. The toilet was dirty under the rim and the sink was dirty behind the faucet. The bottom sheet elastic was worn out on both beds. The TV remote control function worked poorly even after changing batteries. Staff were very pleasant.

The location was good. That’s about all that was good. The room was damp. There were fruit flies every where. The television wouldn’t turn on and the lighting in the room was terrible.

Not the greatest experience I paid for a suite got a queen instead I guess they gave my suite away. They didn’t have enough towels and rags in room. Eggs and bacon and sausage was over cooked.

Clean room and friendly staff.

No bugs The room didn’t look vacuumed, there was a tissue under the sheet, no mattress cover on one bed, dirty used wash cloth hanging in the shower and old stains in the walls. Nothing looked cleaned very well.
