Avalon Inn Downtown Morro Bay

Great location within Morro Bay. Price was a bit too high.

Helpful staff. Walkable to the wharf, reataurants, and coffee bistros.

I had steyed there previously when it was Fireside Inn and loved my stay then. The updates now and a name change later, it is still fantastic and great! I will definitely stay again. The location to the Embarcadero and local places is excellent.

The front desk woman was so kind and helpful with everything.

Cons: AC didn’t work, only fan option was available; honestly not a huge deal as the weather is nice and cool but still. There were a few stains on the AC and curtains, again nothing drastic but enough to notice. IF you’re light sleeper there’s a 24 hour car wash near, just fyi. I did feel that it was a tiny bit over priced but location was awesome. I would stay here again. 👍

good place at a great price, bed was good and room was clean. Carpet had a few stains and the bath light fixture had some rust spots. For the price it was a good stay.

Stay was very comfortable with my family.

Walking distance to the harbor and it was a clean hotel room.

Place itself in a calm small town

The gentleman who checked us in was very polite and efficient. Unfortunately, his friendliness and the cleanliness of the room didn’t make up for the thin walls and ceilings. The place is older and on a busy street so we could easily hear noises from other rooms, outside our room, as well as the sea gulls roosting atop the roof. Throughout the night, we were awoken multiple times by outside noises. Not a great stay, though it is walkable to town and to the waterfront.

Room is not sound proof. There was constant noise coming from upstairs.

Housekeeping staff was very nice though.

Had a good stay. Room was clean. Bed was good though a bit hard. The sheets were nice. You can really hear upstair people if you are in the first floor. I could hear their voice and they were loud walking back and forth. I assume the bedroom upstairs above was the same as mine anyway it seemed like too many people in the room above me sounded like at least a husband and wife and more than one kid so it was pretty noisy until they finally went to bed. I had to wait to go to bed. And then it was quiet overnight and I got up before they got up. It was just for one night. They definitely need to put in new televisions! Very cheap quality small TV with horrible sound quality. Convenient location parking close to rooms.

The receptionist was welcoming. The housekeeping was very kind. I requested an extra couple of pillows, that was not made available. We had a concern about the cleanliness of the curtains. Overall, It was good.

Good location to town and restaurants and rock Bed was uncomfortable as were the pillows and HVAC unit was really noisy and did not work very well. Would have like some sort of breakfast as an option
