Rooms are dirty and smell bad. The hotel is not the same as the pictures. Not recommend 👎

The Shelby is a great hotel. Be advised this is not a 5 star hotel! This small, boutique style hotel has great vibes and friendly staff. The overall hotel still could use some upgrading, but i will definitely be back!

Nicely located near the pier with friendly staff, cute rooms and a nice pool. Located on the beach with easy access. Restaurant on property that we didn't end up using with lots of places to walk to. We didn't need to move our car once during the weekend as we walked to all of our restaurants. Highly recommend Strong Waters for amazing drinks and yummy bites (diagonally across the street)

The room itself was nice and with a lovely view. The amenities were great and most of the staff were quick to assist us. We loved how close it was to the beach and how easy it was to access. The bed and chairs in the room were very comfortable and the sleep we got was amazing. Unfortunately one of the staff members screwed up our check in and told us to wait for our room to be ready and said they would call us. 2 hours later and no phone call we went to the main office to re-check and it had been ready for almost an hour. That was a major downside. Then on top of that any time we tried get to Netflix on the TV it kept telling us that our room wasnt checked in and the maintenance staff couldn't even figure it out. On our last day we figured out the problem ourselves after multiple tests. If it comes with that it should be easy to access and we shouldn't have to figure it out ourselves. When we arrived there was a strong smell of weed on the top floor and we weren't the only guest to mention it. This one is kind of a gimme and we should have expected it but parking was abysmal and we often had to park in a parking garage that was a good block over which was kind of a pain to have to walk all the way to the hotel and back when carrying items like beach chairs and body boards. The elevator was a little out of date and was very slow honestly making us question whether or not it would randomly stop while we were on it. The bathroom in the room was a bit of an issue like I understand it was a handicapped accessible which was good for my fiancé but it didn't have a curtain or sliding glass door which quickly became a problem when the water went all over the bathroom floor and we had to clean it up ourselves to prevent anything from happening to the room. A curtain or sliding glass door should be installed at the very least.

Very disappointed. What is portrayed on their social is absolutely not what they provice. I expected a chic, almost cosmopolitan experience and it couldn’t have been further from that. Parking is atrocious and forget about leaving to go out and about, you’ll never get back in. The elevator was down upon arrival though they did fix it within a reasonable amount of time. The condition of the building is substandard. Broken and missing pieces of tile in the elevator, horribly stained carpets in the hallways, mold stained caulk around the shower. Incredibly uncomfortable chairs on the balcony but worst of all was the noise. Absolutely no consideration of others. Neighbors talking loudly and screaming children. Forget about enjoying the pool. Loud, horrid, nerve grating music pouring from the pool lounge speakers 24/7. The list goes on and on. Only redeeming factor was proximity to the beach. But that didn’t make it worth the stay.

We would also like to thank the gentleman at the front desk. He was incredibly polite, welcoming, and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. We truly appreciate his kindness and excellent customer service. We will definitely be back!

The beach The first day the housekeeper was great. The rest of the stay there were 2 housekeepers who basically only brought towels. Didn’t make beds, take out trash or check for supplies that were out
-
Very clean They let children put floats in the pool and buggie boards. Pool closes at 8:00 pm

A lovely sort of boutique hotel that was very clean & welcoming. Loved the pool & the lazy river! Great location & easy parking. We’ll definitely be returning!

Muy pero muy recomendable 👌

I didn't stay because of very rude hotel staff and my carpet in my room was flooded with, I guess, water. Very rude staff that works here. So, rude and disrespectful, I didn't stay there.

It was a great place to stay . The ocean front was worth it but , get a hi higher floor for a greater view. On a plane there is you just gotta keep up with the housekeeping to give you towels and toilet paper lol but that was it..

What I didn’t like was that before arriving at this hotel, they had already charged my account before I could even arrive at the hotel to check in. Also, my account had another hold on it while I was at their property, and on top of that, they pulled the “resort fee” out of my account the day after I checked out. So it seemed to me as if they were breaking everything up, which I thought strange and did not appreciate that. And not only that, my family was never able to get in the pool because each time, there was nowhere for us to place our belongings as it seemed as if the other guests was holding tables and chairs with their belongings on them. So for the 3 days we stayed, we never got to get in the pool. Also, apparently there’s only 1 luggage cart throughout the entire hotel. So the guests have to haul their luggage in themselves in their hands, which is crazy for the amount of money you pay. Upon checking out, the housekeeper seemed to rush us out the room in which we still had well over an hour before check out time. I most definitely will not be staying here in the future.

The dining was great as well as the attendant at the pool area. Good customer service. I don’t realize if was 3 separate buildings. My overall experience was with housekeepers . I had to go get towel for my family every day all though my booking said 5. Our hotel was located on the beach and the only thing was appeared to be done in my room was the trash was pulled , and towel was put in. I asked for a broom and mop to sweep and was told that it was not allowed. No sheets were change. I did breakfast for my family but they only gave free breakfast for two. Housekeeping didn’t show up on Sunday at that point I just checked out early.getting assistance from front desk took forever but they busy but just doing thing very slow. It look about 15-20 for towel . We just left looking to find a housekeeper to give us some towel.

Our child was very sad and embarrassed when we were told at the restaurant that breakfast was not included for them. It was an uncomfortable and disappointing experience for our family. If breakfast is only included for adults, the hotel should clearly state this at the time of booking to avoid situations like this.
