Nice hotel, good location, helpful staff

Wonderfully comfy!

We also were given a handicapped accessible room, which was fine except in the bathroom. It was a roll in shower. There was a shower curtain that was about 6 inches too short for the shower and the water just spilled all over the tile floor, which then became very slick. It took three towels to mop up the water from the shower. Not the best design or the safest set up.

Great room, and fantastic location, with a short walk to Yale. Staff were very nice, and room was comfy.

Unfortunately, the air conditioning issue significantly impacted my experience. My original room never cooled below about 76–77 degrees, making it uncomfortable to sleep. I reported the problem before leaving for the day and was told someone would look at it while I was out. When I returned that evening, the room was still just as warm. That meant making another trip to the front desk, waiting while the situation was addressed, going back upstairs to pack everything, returning downstairs to get new room keys, and then going back upstairs again to move into a different room. After a long day of sightseeing, it was a frustrating and time-consuming inconvenience that could have been avoided if the issue had been confirmed or a room change arranged earlier. The replacement room was better, and I appreciate that the staff ultimately moved me. However, given the disruption and lost time during my vacation, I was disappointed that no discount or other gesture of goodwill was offered. If not for the air conditioning issue and the way it was handled, I would have rated this stay much higher because the hotel itself is clean and in a convenient location.

Convenient

Easy check-in and helpful staff. Only there over night as family member in Yale Hospital. Paring easy as was check out. Needs more charging ports.

If you're looking for a downtown hotel for a night or two, this is a great location. Parking is available in the ramp across the street. Easy peasy. Lobby is large, rooms are clean. My only suggestion is the front desk staff needs to be a bit more informed about the area.... what's open later at night, what is walkable, what are great places to dine. Of course I can Google it myself but I look to the "locals" to tell me about the area surrounding the hotel.

Some staff need retraining

The room was a little small but suited my needs. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was great. Wished they provided a free breakfast. Parking was convenient.

Excellent hotel in great location

Staff and view from my room were the highlights for me. Check in was simple. Facilities were well kept. Price surprised me a bit. I wasn’t expecting some of the fees. This may just be me. But I expect some kind of complimentary breakfast option, even if it just bagels and juice.

Clean, nice staff, comfortable

A basic property, but clean and well-maintained and convenient to New Haven.

Clean and homely. Central location.

Price Clean Bed was simply amazing so comfortable Great parking Lack of complimentary breakfast especially when cafe closed Monday Tv didn’t work very hard to function no signal

Close convenient location to hospital after my surgery. Disability access rooms, walk in shower. Staff was very helpful after my surgery, helping with extra towels and pillows, etc. Breakfast options would be great, something healthy like eggs etc, higher toilets to better help those with disabilities.

Free coffee in the lobby each morning. Between 1am and 4am each morning we stayed, we were repeatedly woken up by people racing motorcycles or cars on the road outside. It was so loud it felt like they were in the room. Then, starting at 7am there was construction right outside with multiple jackhammers, even on a Sunday. We asked to be moved to a room that was off the street but the hotel refused unless we checked out at 10am and wouldn't be able to check back in until 3pm that day, which wasn't an option for us. The person we spoke to was unsympathetic and just said " we don't control the road noise". While that's true, this is not a cheap hotel and I would expect better soundproofing and better customer service.

We loved the secure parking garage and the walkway bridge. from the hotel to the covered parking garage! The hotel staff was very friendly and gave us a parking card for after our trip to NYC. We would use this hotel again with a smaller car our Ridgeline would be too big for the parking garage. The coffee was good, but a few cookies or pastries, fruit would be nice in the morning, even packaged.
