What was even more disappointing was how my concern was handled afterward. When I brought the incident to the manager’s attention, instead of listening to my experience and addressing my concern, he immediately defended the employee by repeatedly saying she was one of their best workers, even though the incident occurred under his supervision. Rather than acknowledging my experience or offering a sincere apology, it felt like my concern was dismissed. A great location cannot make up for poor customer service. I hope management focuses on listening to guests’ feedback, taking responsibility for issues that occur under their supervision, and addressing concerns professionally instead of becoming defensive.

I arrived with about 15 minutes notice in an emergency situation, late for a work conference having been defrauded of prior accommodations elsewhere and high and dry for the weekend of high demand. Didn't matter; the staff was entirely unfazed and leapt to my rescue. From the chaos of check-in to the smooth ease of checkout they were nothing short of divine agents of tranquility and grace. They cannot get paid enough or praised enough for the lengths they went to. As I said to one, it was not only that they were all really good at their jobs—it was that they were so obviously people who loved helping other people, and cared about the world. Rare and welcome traits. Grateful to them all, urge you to consider staying here even if you spend a little more than you planned. It's worth it.

Nice luxury hotel. Not the hotel's fault, but the neighborhood was a bit seedy, so be careful.
