Andrew Jackson Hotel, a French Quarter Inns Hotel

We arrived to find our door did not lock from the outside, the toilet flushes only occasionally, there was a dead cockroach on the floor and sensitive stains on the sheet, holes in the bathroom walls stuffed with toilet paper. We asked for a different room but were told they were booked so we checked out at 11pm. Despite numerous attempts to email management for a refund, attempts have gone unanswered. The only positive was the one staff member covering both this and another hotel property was very kind.

Property needs serious upgrades and cleaning. More then the normal staff can provide.

Great convenient location and the staff were friendly. Very historic building and nice room. The halls could have been cleaner, and the television system didn't work well, but I would stay here again for the ambiance, location, rate, etc. I didn't rate it 5 stars in everything because of the need for vacuuming in the halls and the television issue, but you don't normally come here for television and the rooms were very nice for this part of town. Some things would have bothered some people keeping it from the 5 stars like I said, but I would stay here again. The staff is remote most of the time, but it was fine and they were very nice when they were there.

The location was great and the man at the front desk was a great host! He does his best to accommodate everyone. The whole property is very dirty and run down. The pictures the business has posted most definitely are not recent at all! Our room was very nasty and the ac did not work the whole 4 days that we were there. We called and the main office knew our room had no ac before us even checking in but never told us. Our sheets had dark brown stains all over them. The whole room looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in years or any type of maintenance work done to the room either. Needless to say I booked this hotel with high hopes because it was our Anniversary trip and I’d been dreaming to stay here for years , but an hour after checking in we wanted to leave. The man at the front desk tried to help us all he could but the upper management must not want to spend any money on this historical place to keep it alive and running anymore it seems. It’s such a shame to be honest , it could be a really beautiful place. Plus for the money they are asking to stay here it definitely needs a lot more maintenance and cleaning to be acceptable to charge someone that price. Bathroom had mold and a broken toilet seat also. The coolest it got in our room was 77 , hottest was 81.

Staff is great and friendly, it's clean, the room I stayed in is a little bit of a fixer upper but generally really nice looking. I'm not sure about parking cause I didn't bring a car. The location is really good too. It's in the French quarter but not in the middle of it so it's quiet. I would go there again for sure.

When we arrived, our room was very dirty, there was mold on the ceiling and in the bathroom, and several of the cabinets were broken. We brought these concerns to the hotel and requested a refund, ultimately deciding to move to another nearby hotel. I do want to recognize the staff, especially Leroy at the front desk. Leroy was incredibly accommodating and understanding throughout the situation. In particular, the person who helped with our refund request was extremely helpful and made a frustrating situation much easier to navigate. I really appreciate the way we were treated, and their kindness helped make the rest of our trip much better.

Property was beautiful and has a peaceful feeling to it, the property manger and everyone were wonderful. It is close to attractions and BurbonStreet. There are great little shops near by, would definitely stay there again.

This room was just not big enough for us. It was tiny, and we couldn't even unpack. The staff were very nice and refuned our money when we decided to find a bigger place. I don't think they had to do that, so we were very greatful and appreciated their understanding.

Staff was friendly when there but it's mostly a virtual experience. Great location to Bourbon St., Jackson Square, and great restaurants. When I arrived staff was there to check me in but others I noticed were confused when they arrived and there was no staff. They had to call a number and get the codes to the doors. Personally I'm not a fan of no-key locks that are opened via code as it's unknown how often they're changed. Hotel was clean but is old and needs updating. Lots of cracks in the walls; towel hanger not installed sitting under the sink. If you're sensitive to sound at night then bring ear plugs or choose somewhere else. This goes for most chateau style hotels in the French Quarter.

Location was perfect. Was able to park for free about 10 minute walk from hotel. Staff were great. Room was great.

I have stayed all over the Quarter, this one I will do again, The location and ease of use is great.

Parking was at another location and someone came and picked it up shortly after arriving however it took over an hour after calling in the morning even had to call a 2nd time since the first person failed to notify anyone to bring our car

Beautiful hotel with lots of history! The staff were great, they really went above and beyond with such genuine southern hospitality. The location is right in The French Quarter, and within walking distance of everything! And, if you are into the paranormal this place is quite active, especially room 208 and the hallway on the main floor!

Amazing location. Lots of character.

I loved the historical aspect of the hotel. The property could use a little bit more TLC by the owners to make sure the property continues to service the world for years to come. Ther was an issue the door lock on my room but the staff quickly addressed it and changed me to another room. The cleaning staff respected my property. Nothing was amiss or moved. I plan to stay here again in the near future. I absolutely loved the location. CC's coffee shop at one corner, the Vampire Cafe at the other, Lafitte's Blacksmith bar around the corner, Cafe De Monde and Jackson Square a 3 minute walk... it's the perfect location!! Leroy and his staff are amazing. Hopefully the owners invest in this property because its an old building with much historical value.
