location was great. friendly and helpful stuff. hauntingly nice charm. comfortable bed room could use updating and in fact is scheduled for that in several weeks. ( after Jazzfest )
-
We liked the location and the property was directly across from a hidden gem breakfast spot. It needs a littke sprucing up but nice and clean.

Lack of light in the room
-
It was in a good location The room was clean enough, but it wasn’t great
-
Our room really needed a remodel / some work done. Bathroom tiles were missing, there was a fairly large dent in the wall, prior wall maintenance was left unpainted. Definitely an underwhelming experience
-
Great historic hotel with great location across from the nunnery.
-
Room was clean and the front desk very helpful. All questions and concerns address. Offered suggestions on things to see and where to eat.
-
Staff helpful and friendly. Daily room cleaning. Very dated and worn. Not very clean except beds and bathrooms.
-
Charming, perfectly located
-
Perfect location within the French Quarter! Things were much outdated since the expect a complete and full renovation, soon!

Location was great. Quiet. In French Quarter close to Esplanade making it easy to get to the river, Frenchman, Bourbon St, etc. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice free coffee in lobby. Bed was comfortable. Nice AC and ceiling fan made it easy to stay comfortable. Nice room layout. Had an older / historic charm to it. Ghost tours line up on the sidewalk outside every evening to discuss the hotel's haunted history. Very nice breakfast place across the street. Croissant D'Or. Much more personality and charm than the big chain hotels on Canal St. Easy to come and go anytime with the magnetic key for outer gate and room. The guests were all nice, relatively older (eg no college kids), and seemed to be regulars. The condition of the furniture was a bit worn, the toilet seat a bit loose, bathroom fixtures a bit loose. My room , 102, was on ground floor with windows facing into to courtyard. There are some tables in the courtyard right outside the window that people enjoyed making it awkward to leave blinds/curtains open in the morning. I came for Jazz Fest and they said they are closing for major renovation for several months after the JF primarily in the first floor area. I look forward to coming back to stay after the renovations.

Location is everything- and this was. Minutes from French Market, Frenchman Street, ‘heart’ of French Quarter. Close but not too close! And QUIET Old and tired. No fan in bathroom made everything feel a bit damp. Funky lamps barely worked. Not many plugs for modern gadgets
-
Loved our room and the patio area. The neighborhood was very walkable, mostly flat. Parking was a walk but I enjoyed it. Staff were great! We had a really nice stay!!
-
Staff is pretty good. Always had coffee. Parking is good if u don’t mind a walk
-
Location is excellent, close to Frenchman st and great restaurants. Room needs work. Paint peeling on ceiling, headboard on bed attached to bed using zip ties, air-conditioner sound like a plane is taking off. We paid premium rates due to the French quarter festival, so I may not have minded the poor conditions if I was paying a regular rate.
-
Proximity to everything. Walked everywhere. It was quiet too. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lived the courtyard Only negative was the slow elevator, but it was charming. And the stairs worked just fine.
-
Location was perfect. Nice staff. Coffee available in lobby every morning. Room was smelly and needed cleaning. Looked like mold on shower ceiling, floors not clean, paint peeling, mini ironing board too high to reach, Kleenex box not replaced.

We had a pleasant stay at Villa Convento, felt it was a good price for a French Quarter location. The place is old, elevator is super slow but that was expected and I was glad to climb stairs to our room instead especially after all the great meals we had in NOLA. It was clean, room (#408) had everything we need (bigger shelf in shower would've been helped), it was quiet, we had two balconies and plenty of room. We were right in the middle of things, super convenient location especially if you plan to stay put in the French Quarter. Heard a rumor that renovations are to begin soon but didn't confirm with hotel staff. We'll definitely stay here again.
