bad experience

The Troubadour hotel was a great stay for our weekend getaway to New Orleans. The hotel was close enough to the French Quarter, without being in the middle of the chaos. The gym was more than adequate and although we didn't use the pool, we saw a few people enjoying it. The hotel seems to have been upgraded recently and is very modern. The only downside is the closure of the food and beverage outlets. We'll have to come back and get it out once it's re-opened. I would recommend this hotel.

TV didn’t work, toilet would run, broken cold water faucet, shower water would fluctuate and make noise…service was less than mediocre.

I love staying there! The staff is nice & friendly! I never have any bad experiences! Highly recommend. Especially for solo travelers.

Not great

The staff were great. The room was not so great. The fridge did not work. The sliding door for the bathroom was barely working. The power outlets didn’t work by the bed at all. Nor the wireless charging stand. The cable was glitching the whole time. The hotel is nice looking on the outside but the rooms are very mid. The view was nice a very good location to everything in the downtown area. But the man at the front desk was a good help and very nice about everything.

Friday night was ok. Bed was comfortable; quiet on floor/hallway. Got good sleep. Saturday, bad day all around. We left for day, got back to room, Basic housekeeping not done. I was informed at Lobby Desk we had to verbally request it at Check-in so they could write our name down on a scrap paper for Housekeeping. We had never been informed of this at check in. Front Desk Drama Queen with deep sighs and slamming pen on desk: We hadn’t requested it, so therefore our fault. Other guests pointed out elevator that gets stuck on 4th floor so we wouldn’t get trapped like they had. Saturday, bus load of college kids arrived. Sat night, parties in 3 rooms next to us, doors slamming, shouting in the corridors at 2am. There wasn’t a phone in the room to call Front Desk re: noise. I had to look up their number on line to call Front Desk from my cell phone. Luckily I was able to find a local number. I attempted multiple times to talk to Hotel Mgr on Sun about problems and each time Drama Queen told me Mgr was “still at church” (for 5 hrs). I left my number for Mgr to call me; still ghosted by Mgr

This place used to be good but rude lady at the front desk overnight I asked for an accessible room and there was no bars in the bathroom. It was a regular bathroom. There’s no ice machine you have to ask for ice in the front. The TV only had one channel working. I also couldn’t access the Wi-Fi. There’s absolutely no amenities you just get a shower and a bed. That’s why it’s so cheap.

Staff was excellent! Room could be a little cleaner

The location of this hotel was perfect. It was walking distant to the French Quarter and the Ceasars superdome. I stayed with my mom for my graduation so it was perfect for a first time visitor. The hotel staff were the best part of the stay, They were very friendly and accommodating. My only draw back was that there were stains in the carpet in the room and stains in the bathroom sink. This tells me there needed to be some updates to the rooms. However, it was very clean and that helped to make it comfortable enough to stay. Also alotnof the amenities were unavailable. The rooftop, restaurant and WiFi were unavailable during my time. So this hotel was just a place to sleep during my stay. Overall, it was nice and the staff were so welcoming, friendly and accommodated every ask without hesitation.

Staff was helpful to mitigate these situations but it still shouldn't have required their intervention.

The staff was excellent and helpful. A lot of issues. I took dozens of attempts prior to our visit to reach someone on the telephone to ask any questions. There was no internet. The staff was utilizing there own personal telephones to function at their jobs. There is no breakfast or restaurant and the once popular rooftop bar is currently closed. The hot water availability was very spotty and unpredictable. Had to request clean towels from the staff each day of our stay. My overall impression was that the staff was really excellent and experienced, but they were not provided with the tools necessary to perform their jobs. Usually hotel properties struggle to find and keep good, caring staff despite having the amenities in place... this hotel is the opposite. The beds were comfortable and had good pillows and sheets. The bath towels were a bit puny compared to other hotels I gave stayed at. If it wasn't for the quality of the staff at the front desk, we may have checked out after the first day. Things can change rapidly at a hotel and issues sometimes are only temporary. My suggestion is to call the hotel directly prior to booking a stay to see if you can actually reach a live person. Check and see if their internet is up and running, if that is important to you. Inquiry about the hot water availability. Be careful when booking on Expedia that you don't end up overpaying. If you call any hotel multiple times prior to your stay and can't reach a live person it's a big red flag

Do not stay here. There were roaches in my room and people outside loitering, completely unacceptable. To make it worse, I have been trying to get a refund ever since. Expedia contacted the hotel multiple times. I contacted them multiple times. I even spoke to the manager directly and was told I would get a refund. Nothing. Complete silence every time. I was lied to repeatedly and left with no resolution. Save your money and stay somewhere else.

First room we were put in had plumbing issues. The next room had mold on bathroom ceiling, stains on the carpet, bedding was dirty. The rooftop bar and lounge that was advertised was closed. The WiFi was down. Tv in room only worked on the first night of our stay out of 3 nights. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL 0/10

Staff was great. Clean room. Only issue was rooftop lounge and bar was not open. Also, the wifi was down, so there was no TV and the phone did not work at all.
