Unimpressive stay. Hotel decor is dated, carpet on the room feels old, air in the room feels stuffy.

    Good staff, great location

No fridge or microwave. The shower curtain was weirdly short, so with every use the entire floor was soaked. The handle for the water faucet in the shower unscrewed off. I asked for towels and they never came

Although I stayed 1 day it was great. Told my family and friends about the hotel that let's your fur babies come as well. I'm definitely coming back to this hotel next year. The staff was polite and helpful, and friendly. Thank you so much for the hospitality.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in in my life.

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

Terrific location esp for hopping on the subway to get around. Was a really nice walk later at night after a loud evening with friends. Would def stay again.

Nice hotel with a few minor issues, such as dirty and broken window shades. The decor is old, but there is plenty of storage space for clothes and backpacks. The bathroom was clean and plenty of hot water to shower. I would return, just not pay a premium rate.

Room was clean and ready at our check-in. The hotel is not brand new, but the beds, towels, sheets, and personal care products, like shampoo, feel fresh and very up-to-date. The staff is friendly, helpful, and efficient!! The location on the corner of 57th & Lexington, is well located for the Upper East side. The rates are very competitive compared to other hotels in the area. Hotel 57 is quiet, though it is on too busy streets, so NYC noise is part of your stay. My wife and I plan to stay here 2 to 4 times a year as we visit our daughter. In short, a very nice place to stay while visiting The Big Apple! 🍎 fell new, t

Although the location, staff, and cleanliness were very good, the property felt old and outdated. The Jr. Suite we upgraded to was essentially just a room with a desk. The furniture was worn, the TV remote only worked from a few inches away, and there was no refrigerator or microwave. The A/C was extremely noisy, and the windows did little to block street noise, which was especially frustrating with nearby construction. The coffee machine was hidden in a closet, storage space for clothing was limited, and one elevator sounded like it was close to breaking down. I would not recommend staying here; there are many better options in NYC.

The floors were dirty, our room had no windows, and the overall condition of the hotel was nowhere near what you’d expect from a 4-star property. At best, it’s a 2-star hotel. The biggest issue was the surprise $150 “refundable” deposit we were required to pay at check-in. We were told it would be refunded, but later they claimed it was actually a “service fee.” This was never disclosed beforehand, not by the hotel or on Expedia. It felt very misleading. The staff were not welcoming or helpful, and the elevator honestly felt like a moving death trap. Save yourself the disappointment and don’t get scammed by the misleading rating or hidden fees.

We especially LOVED that you had to have your room key to even use the elevator- therefore, ONLY quests could access them! STAFF was VERY friendly! Smiles and greeting every time we saw one! Always asking how we were and if we needed anything ! 5 STARS! From check in to check out! Our bed was SUPER comfy- premium duvet and pillows! And the AIR worked AWESOME!! Blackout blinds when needed and we also had a great view! NOW… the walls ARE a little thin, or maybe it is the door? As we were able to hear a lot of noise from others within the hotel on our floor- BUT- that wasn’t enough to distract from all the other GREAT 👍 things ! The BEST thing though is LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!! OMG 😱!! This hotel is LITERALLY 15-20 min walk from Central Park (we went to a concert) 25 min from Times Square!!!

This hotel was a very basic, no frills accommodation. There was absolutely nothing special about the place, although the rate for the room was nearly $400/nt. (probably due to the World Cup). There were no amenities. A rooftop terrace was advertised (even with a nice table setting shown on the website) but there was nothing (no tables, no chairs, nothing) on the rooftop terrace. The room had a couch that was falling apart and the other furnishings were tired and were in need of an upgrade. The only plus was the location of the hotel. I would not stay here again for half the price.

I stayed at Hotel 57 for a recent solo trip to New York and it will definitely be on my list for future stays due to location, proximity to public transportation, helpful staff, and overall value. My room was the perfect size and surprisingly very quiet. My only "critique" is the wonkiness of some of the light switches (it was unclear what some of the switches for for/did not appear to do anything) and I found out the hard way that the outlet on one of the light fixtures did not work (fortunately, I still had time to charge my devices that had not charged overnight). Overall, very positive experience and would definitely stay here in the future.

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

The hotel is very 'tired' and all the furnishings reflect this. No fridge in the hotel room. Just a warning the bathroom although clean, was marble throughout with very sharp corners, on slip and you're in trouble. The staff were friendly. Also, food wasn't offered leaving a trek to find something decent for breakfast. I suppose you get what you pay for.

Everything was great, very quiet had a great nights sleep. The only negative was some of the furniture was getting run down

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

Great location and a nice place to stay.

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

Good location and very friendly staff No water in room

Location was perfect for Central Park and nearby sites. Staff were incredible and especially helpful in assisting with a transport issue. Could have been cleaner and was quite dated.
