I stayed for 15 minutes and decided the money saved there is not worth it. It's also worth mentioning that the part of town where this hotel is is pretty rough. Should be fine during the day, but it's pretty scary at night.

No ac

Horrible place I do not recommend. The place is dark and dirty with things falling apart and looking like it hasn’t been swept or mopped in months. We get informed while checking in that the entire hotel does not have working AC, the lobby does however, and that they can give us a box fan. 3 people in a large room and only one fan is ridiculous. Wasn’t going to offer 20% off until we asked. The room was dirty, they have a run down couch with an insane amount of stains, microwave has no plate, toilet is barely functioning, while the room is 91 degrees and we get a second fan sent up. The second fan was covered in dust. This place is horrible, stay away.

The Air conditioning was out in every room except the basement. The guy in the room next to us had a raging party in the middle of the night and it took three visits to the front desk and over an hour and a half for the staff to come down and do something about it. It was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had.

A/C unit didn’t work in room. Made it hard for myself and my 2 year old daughter to sleep.

Not in a good area and it doesn't feel safe. The room was not clean and was not in a good condition. We couldn't stay there another night! We couldn't get our refund back at the front desk.

Air conditioning was broke
-
When I arrived the staff at the front desk told me the air conditioning was not working in the building. When I asked for a refund the staff told me that he could only refund me up to 30%(which they never did) without the manager present. Nobody could tell me when the manager was coming in for his or her next shift either. Lastly when entering the hotel room there were at least 10-20 flies buzzing about the room. I would not recommend staying here

We arrived to find the AC in our room was broken. The only fix offered was to split our group into two windowless rooms in the basement. That was the welcome. It went downhill from there. No hot water for the entire stay. The rooms were bare to the point of feeling unfinished, with barely any sheets on the bed. Room numbers were printed on scraps of old paper, which tells you how much care goes into this property. Nothing here felt like a functioning hotel. Working climate control, hot water, clean linens, a door you can actually identify by number: all of it was either broken or missing. Staff had no real solution, just a downgrade presented as an accommodation. If the rate looks reasonable, understand what you are paying for. Brooklyn has plenty of options that deliver the basics. This one does not.

I arrived around mindnight and waited almost an hour to check in. The hotel did not have AC (all rooms, not just mine), when I finally got to my room - there were no towels in the bathroom! In addition to all this, the toilet made constant noise.

The staff was friendly, but the overall experience was a bit disappointing. We arrived shortly after 3 and the room wasn’t available until shortly after 5. (It was heavily booked because of the World Cup but also the A/C wasn’t working, and we waited for a room on the second floor rather than basement or third floor. Hotel staff did give us a fan. The fridge in the room didn’t work. We did have towels though and the room was spacious and quiet at night.

Horrible experience 1/10 would never come back or recommend. No AC couldn’t sleep the entire night the room was 92 degrees and it ruined my whole weekend

No AC in entire building. Windows in rooms don’t open. Dingy walls and floors. Unsafe neighborhood. Horrific ownership.

The understaffed crew tried to make the best out of a hotel that is well below acceptable quality for receiving guests. It feels like the owners ran out of money midway into refurbishing the building and decided to open anyway. I, along with several families, had to wait hours for our rooms to be ready. I was given a room in the basement that had been turned down by other guests but was the only one with working AC. I was unable to sleep as there was no effort to dampen the sounds of the rest of the operations in the basement so every voice , cart rolling, door slamming, equipment tuning noise echoed throughout the night. The only food available was a small vending machine that appeared to be stocked with “stuff from a convenience store “ , it is nowhere near what is advertised.

this place was so horrible I left the next day didn’t complete my stay they don’t have AC working my poor dog was panting

The air conditioning in our original room wasn’t working, and the only solution offered was a couple of portable fans. When we arrived, there weren’t even any towels in the room. We had to ask for them twice (along with the fans) and waited over an hour in 30°C (86°F) heat before receiving them. The room also smelled strongly of urine, so we contacted Expedia to request a solution. We were eventually moved to another room in the basement. Although the air conditioning worked there thanks to an indoor AC unit, the room was smaller and the walls were so thin that we could barely sleep because of the loud music coming from the room next door. We called the front desk twice, but nothing was done. This was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I would not recommend this hotel under any circumstances. Also, while the neighborhood seems fine during the day, it feels completely different at night and doesn’t feel safe at all. Finally, be aware that the photos are misleading and do not accurately reflect the reality of the hotel.

Rooms were clean

A/C was not working
-
The AC wasn’t working due to a malfunction, I had my accommodated to the basement room which was a mistake on my part, I was doubled charged for my room and not refunded. I been coming to the Brooklyn Hotel for years and this was one of the worse experiences I ever had being a guest at the Brooklyn Hotel.
