DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Newark Airport

Very friendly staff .. Even Lucas the engineer fixed my broken wheel on my luggage... It came loose going from carpet to tile... Appreciate his positive energy!! Staff on return to airport(Thomas) was so helpful .. Great place to stay !!

Room were quiet clean and beds were comfortable comfortable.

The room was a bit of an old smoke smell. Not sure if it was because it was old and the smell was from the old carpet or something else. The towels had stains on them. The staff was nice.

Parking is horrible! You will need to spend 2 hours to find a spot in this paid parking

The property itself was gorgeous. it was a very busy weekend with 4th of July and the would cup going on. The check in took a while due to the long line and limited front desk staff. Other guest skipped the line to ask for more pool towels because they had run out which was indicating how busy it would be. We were offered those warm cookies at the end of check in as per double tree standard and that was a nice treat.Parking on site is a nightly fee and was super difficult due to how busy the property was. The room smelt stale as if it had not been properly cleaned. I notified the house keeper that I saw and she stated that the room was clean and she did not notice a problem but sprayed some freshener around the room. The in house dining was a cool option I wish the menu had a little more variety and more affordable. The restaurant staff were friendly and inviting. The pool was a nice and useful amenity. The power kept glitching due to the weather but the AC was great ! My family and I did not try the breakfast. Kids were playing knock and ditch at our door which was a bit annoying check out morning so we were awakened from our sleep earlier than we wanted. Overall I would give this stay a 6/10.

Property was dated. Had signs of mold and wear. Shower heads was in need of cleaning. Breakfast was $24.99. Eggs was supposed to be scrambled look like soup. Same daily options. Oatmeal had too much water and undercooked. Floor in dinning area was slippery with no caution signs out. Behind the dress had items from previous quest which looks like haven't been cleaned in years because of the build up of dust. One of the beds had a metal pole sticking from under it. One of vending machines was out of order most of the time. If traveling to New York it's better to stay in New york if you're Ubering. The hotel was an ok stay. Pool was slippery too could be due to excessive chlorine.

They charge $30 for parking when I didn’t actually have a parking spot. I had to park in tollway zones multiple times during my stay ice machine didn’t work. I had to ride the elevator up and down different floors to find the ice machine that was working people was out front of the building, smoking weed playing loud music like it was a damn concert. I read this place zero I will never ever. Again.

Staff were efficient & room clean & tidy. No water coolers but ice available on each floor. Fresh water for room coffees? Hotel position limits you to access local amenities. Apart from that great!

The only draw back was that we had payed for top floor NYC view and we got a Newark view and side view of NYC not center front view as advertised.

The room and hallway smelled like stale smoke.

To be honest the elevator was the most unique thing, at least to me. But the property was well maintained, clean and fresh. The room was nice and clean despite the doors to the room being rundown. Other than that the stay was good.

Parking was extremely limited, making it frustrating just to arrive. The pool area was loud and crowded well past the posted closing time. The hotel states the pool closes at 8:00 PM, but people were still swimming, yelling, and making excessive noise until around 10:00 PM without any apparent enforcement. The noise was so loud that I could clearly hear children screaming from the pool while standing on my room’s balcony, making it impossible to relax. Outside the front lobby, people were openly smoking marijuana while blasting music from portable speakers. The smell of marijuana carried throughout the hallways and onto the guest room floors, creating an unpleasant environment. To make matters worse, the front desk constantly had long lines, making it difficult to get assistance. Despite all the commotion throughout the hotel, the staff did not appear to have control over the situation or enforce the hotel’s own policies. This was not the experience I expected from a DoubleTree by Hilton. The lack of organization, security, and enforcement made the property feel chaotic rather than welcoming. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, well-managed hotel.
