E-Z 8 Motel Newark

Bad experience. Lobby was locked when I checked in at 8 pm. Had to stand outside in the parking lot which was seeking of pot and talk to the clerk to check in which didn't feel safe. The only amenity is a plastic cup by the sink. There was a scratchy blanket with the top sheet on top of the blanket. Had to unmake the bed and reverse this because the blanket was very itchy with no sheet. Two very thin and hard pillows on an uncomfortable mattress. Woke up with a sore neck and back. I camp and sleep in tents a lot but this was far worse. It's rundown but I expected that for the price. Towels and shower clean. After waving outside the windows to try to get the attention of the clerk to check out while she played on her phone, I gave up and tossed the card under the broken window and left.

Really bad experience--beds were NOT comfortable, bad smell in the room, and ROACHES!! All the stairways to the upper level were blocked and there was some kind of hazardous warning sign posted right beside the 1st room they gave us. We asked for another room but it was no better. Had to cancel the second night's reservation because it was so bad. Have requested a full refund for the stay.

DO NOT STAY HERE. After paying for a week, I found a bedbug in my room. The hotel refused to refund me but moved me to another room. When I returned from work the next morning, I discovered that my suitcase, bedding, towels, skincare products, and five weeks’ worth of food had been thrown away. My gold chain and other jewelry were also taken. After repeatedly asking management for help, they offered me only $25 in compensation. I have filed a police report and am assembling my legal team. I will pursue every lawful option available to recover my belongings and receive full compensation for everything I lost. Please protect yourself and stay elsewhere. DO NOT STAY HERE. Last resort for a motel. Didn’t have any room cleaning for 5 nights stayed. Shower knob was gone and had ants everywhere.

Nice place to relax with free coffee and easy to use laundry.

Staff was great... they greeted when you enter... smiled and very nice...

Easy access from the freeway and to local stores. I woke up the middle of the night to use the restroom. Wasn’t happy what I found crawling on the floor. It was covered completely. I use a ventilator and the least I want for my equipment to become contaminated with it. So I decided to leave last night left the card keys in the front desk and left. Not happy and never coming back. I let management know to get a full refund. Again not happy.

First room we got had a broken door handle, thankfully the staff were super nice and had no problem switching us right away. In the second room we got the bathtub was covered in ants there were roaches and there was dirt in the tub and on one of our 2 towels that the room came with.

Not worth even the low price. Bottom of the barrel--poor bed, dim light, dingy surroundings, only the bare minimum. At least the water pressure was OK.

Very worth to try, yellow and smell bed, pillow and chair, pay WiFi, broken toilet and crack roaches. The door helps practicing muscle.

Looking at the photos, you might think that the hotel is in fairly good condition. However, once we checked in, we were extremely disappointed. The hotel was in terrible condition, and we honestly did not even want to spend the night there. The room was dirty, the toilet was broken, and the furniture was old, worn out, and covered with stains. We also saw a cockroach running around the room, which we had to kill ourselves. We were traveling with a child, so it was especially unpleasant and uncomfortable to stay there. Overall, the experience was terrible and completely different from what we expected based on the photos.

Needed to be cleaned better

I was remodeling my bathroom so I thought for the cheap price I would get a room to shower but I barely made it out alive in the 20 minutes I was there. My room smelled like a bar, the smoke smell was so bad it triggered my asthma. The air conditioner had missing pieces and I could see mold, so I immediately shut it off. 2 cop cars roamed the property so that was a bad sign. I heard people fighting next door and yelling and there are a few stair boarded up. The only thing good about this place was the lovely front desk young lady. Well now I know you get what you pay for and even then this place was not with my $60. Good luck to anyone who has to stay there.
