The Bay Inn

I can get nit picky but I'm not going to. For the money this was a very quiet stay in a clean room with excellent owners who are super friendly. My only critiques are please have an outlet near the side of the bed to charge my phone and to offer stream service to log into rather than cable TV. The lights outside our room were so bright that my room never got dark and it made it difficult to sleep. I would stay here again when passing through Norfolk.

There is no hair conditioner provided. (Left behind by mistake?) It would be nice to have paper available.

Staff were so nice and friendly, couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay for a few days! Thank you so much for the great hospitality!! :)

This was a great place to stay, especially because we didn't want to pay for extra amenities we weren't going to use. Everything was clean and it's walking distance to water and a great diner around the corner. Definitely recommend.

This property is on the edge of a neighborhood. The space felt safe. The courtyard was darling.

I loved the location. As well.as the serenity of the area. The center garden was quaint and enjoyable. You can walk to the beach. The water was super hot and I truly loved that. Nice to have a fridge and microwave. The owners were super friendly and kind. Price point was excellent. Great place and I will definitely stay again.

Close to the beach. Lots of pillows. Beautiful hydrangeas and trees.

Absolutely love this place the beach is right across the street and everything you need is within walking distance. The owners are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. I will always stay here when I’m in town. Also you should get tattooed right down the street at rocksteady tattoo the guys are awesome over there!!!

Retro (in the best possible way!) on the outside but modernize inside the rooms. This place was great and will definitely stay again if in the Norfolk/Hampton Roads area again!

I love the courtyard, everything thing is so near, the beach is literally across the street! Restaurants & stores are all 3mins away!!! Beautiful scenery. Safe location quiet! The owners are so sweet & accommodating! Will stay here everytime I visit Norfolk Beach!

This was a surprisingly great stay and is close to base and the beach. Most of my room seemed recently renovated, noise was minimal, and not a bug to be seen. It is right next to a nice neighborhood too so you will feel safe.

Excellence stay! I would recommend. You can't be the price. good location close to the beaches.

Nice quiet location minutes away from the beach. It served it’s purpose by allowing me a place not to far from the airport and provided everything I needed for an overnight stay.

I had to go to the Maritime Institute nearby for some classes. Ive stayed here twice and if i ever have to come back id stay here again. The location is fantastic and the rooms are great. The owner is also super friendly. I cant recommend this place enough.

Great location if you want to get away from the tourist traps downtown and have a quiet stay a block away from a quiet local beach. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, and appreciated that the rooms all face into a lovely courtyard instead of a parking lot. A/C and hot water were a bit anemic, and coffee pot was flimsy, but all fine for the low price.

This was such a cute find. A courtyard in the middle of the rooms with chairs and picnic tables. Beach at the Bay side just across the road. Friendly staff. Would go again.

I enjoyed our stay very much. All The room face a quiet little courtyard with plenty of seating. The room was clean; the beds were comfortable; the air conditioning worked without issues. The room has a small coffee maker and coffee, and a hair dryer. The hotel is within walking distance to the beach, a Dairy Queen and Overview Diner. (I highly recommend breakfast at Overview Diner!). The staff/owners are available 24/7 and helpful.

Staff were great, room was clean and comfortable. The area was convenient within safe walking distance to Bay beach access. Just be aware there are a few sketchy spots yet good for a quick stay!

The room was clean and the property seems to be maintained well. The issue I had was the water pressure to the shower was very low and I couldn't get hot water. At best it was lukewarm even after letting the water run several minutes. I think they must either turn off the hot water heater to save money or their hot water heater isn't big enough to handle the capacity. Due to this I would not stay here again. Other than this issue everything was fine but for me being able to take a hot shower with good water pressure is important.
