DoubleTree by Hilton Chicago - Oak Brook

I have stayed at Doubletree before without issue, but this one was not a good experience.

Room is outdated and dirty. The carpet is gross. This is not a 4 star hotel

Had to call maintenance every time I need to get in my room

made us extremely late to our events we specifically booked this hotel to be close to.

Wouldn't go back

No air conditioning in building. We left before checking in. Don’t charge full rate if no air conditioning when it’s 85 degrees outside

First off they refunded my $60 and took it back for what reason idk when I never touch nun in that room besides towels I don’t steal than on top of that they never answer the phone

Clean room likes the cookies I’m glad I went

Nice locations It feels to close not suitable for people with claustrophobia

They ran out of wash cloths and we had to use the big towels ? front desk never answers the phone

Everything was clean room smells great

The hallways we’re disgusting, the carpets were soiled and damaged, wall paper coming off the walls, drywall under was showing and coming off. The wall paper in the bedroom was coming off the walls, the tile in the bathroom was dirty, the tub was dirty and had hair in it. Toilet wasn’t cleaned good enough. I was so pissed. I kept calling down to the front desk and no one would answer, so I had to go to the front desk to get service, numerous times. I wanted to change rooms because I didn’t like the one I was in, so the front desk gave me a key to another room, it wasn’t much better but ok, I moved my stuff and went back to the front desk to switch the key ms and they reserved the room to someone else who was on their way to the room and my stuff was in there. It was just a horrible, unpleasant stay and I will never stay again or recommend.

Construction going on in hallways, trash left overnight (old baseboard out side of my room) and no hot water. Dirty dirty dirty

It was very close to Oakbrook Mall It was rundown and some areas questionable. For example, double doors outside of the elevator made the hotel look rundown.

A glitch on the system It was aeful After a 4 hrs flight it was unbelievable

The nationwide Hilton database outage prevented us from checking in. Once they figured it out, there was only one person working the desk. No apology or consolation was offered for checking in 6 hours after we arrived. Then the room smelled like cigarettes, and the knob in the shower didn't work.
