DoubleTree by Hilton Chicago - Oak Brook

A profoundly depressing experience, this is really not a good hotel. We arrived at 3pm and were told the room was ready but check in wasnt until 4pm so we would have go pay $30. We politely declined and returned at the appointed hour to find a massive queue and one member of staff, it took a long time. Room had seen better days - a single plug point at baseboard level in far corner, really grubby windows, questionable linens and tricky plumbing. Pervasive smell of weed in the halls, and a large pile of rubbish outside a room in our corridor for the best part of a day. Cannot recommend.

The restaurant on property wasn’t open but the rooms were very nice the AC was incredible!

I was placed on the 7th floor and my room temperature was at a constant 78 degrees. I could hear the unit run but it was not blowing out cold air. I went down to the front desk and the staff acted like they would address the issue and get back with me. After a few hours I reached out and they said everything was working as to be expected it was just a hot day and the unit was doing its best to keep up. When I went back to the room it was still 78 degrees and still blowing warm air. As I was looking for another place to stay it was apparent that a lot of people had issues with their room temperature and were leaving as well. I don’t feel the staff took great concern to the issue and when asked what they could do to fix the issue they said not much. They could refund my card but then I would need to be able to find another place to stay, which was going to be difficult due to availability at this time.

Downstairs bathroom flooded couldn’t use it. Can’t get anyone to answer phone for compensation. Stay here often. But will be going down the road to Hyatt

The facility is what you would expect for a Hilton DoubleTree Hotel. Hotel staff and amenities are good. Free parking. Convenient location. Room was very clean. The price was a great value.

Breakfast was excellent but cost $17 per person, staff was very helpful and made you feel appreicated and the room was clean but on the warm side. The room was set at 70 degrees but felt warmer.

Only 2 things I thought could have been was, there was no microwave in our toliet was VERY low.

No hot water! Broken AC! No hot water in room 642. Ice cold showers and even the sink water would not warm up. We had to catch our flight without showering which was very disappointing for this family of 4. Also, the air conditioning was broken. The thermostat read 60 degrees but it felt more like 80. We tossed and turned all night due to the heat and had to sleep on top of the bedding due to the heat.

The staff was friendly and very accommodating.

The hotels hot tub is not up and running. The pool area seems under construction. There was flood light and the attached wire hanging into the pool from the edge. Is that an electrical hazard?! The gym left a lot to be desired. The room thermostat was nice and the room itself was comfortable for a night. The tv was nice.

Parts of the hotel were under construction during our stay. I had almost no warm water in my room for the duration of the stay, and the air conditioning was barely working in my room. Very disappointed in this experience with Doubletree by Hilton Chicago - Oak Brook.

I have stayed at Doubletree before without issue, but this one was not a good experience.

Room is outdated and dirty. The carpet is gross. This is not a 4 star hotel
