Clean and nice staff The other guess allowing their kids to run up and down the hallways. They also were slamming the room doors shut hard making very loud noises.

Black mold. Many complaints about this. Management is abusive and blames guests for non-timely refurbishment of its property.
-
Black mold causing guest illness. Hotel laughed about it which was recorded. Photos obtained as proof.
-
Black mold. Online reviews reflect mold here for at least 10 years. Management is abusive to guests, especially disabled seniors. Had to get the health department involved. Have photos of black mold and recordings. Staff laughed at me regarding their mold problems.

I couldn’t understand paying for breakfast. Continental $14 and 17 for cooked. I had paid to stay and once upon a time that was enough.
-
Nice place. Breakfast costs $17 for a tiny buffet that would normally be free at many other hotels

I photographed it and immediately went to the front desk. The employee looked at my photo and, before I could fully explain, reacted, “OMG.” She offered another room and a one-night refund, but the replacement had 1 king and a pullout sofa instead of the 2 queen beds we booked. I returned to our room and then found ANOTHER suspected bed bug in a different location, which I documented on video. At that point we left. From approximately 9–11 p.m., we sat in our car trying to find another hotel. Nearby hotels were sold out or over $300. We ultimately had to cancel our plans for the following day and unexpectedly return to family, who had to accommodate 3 additional people late that night. Because we had already spent a night there with our luggage, clothing and belongings, the ordeal didn’t end when we left. We had to take precautions with everything to avoid potentially bringing bed bugs into someone else’s home. I have photo and video documentation of both bugs. This completely ruined the remainder of our getaway.

I guess I should expect this with Chicago. But read the fine print on your reservation before you book it. There’s a charge for everything. Parking overnight. Spacious lot no reason to charge for it. Breakfast is even expensive for what it is. Oh well, beware.
