    Everuthing was adequate

It appears that a renovation started approximately four months ago. They failed to perfect the air conditioning in all the common areas which was nonexistent. Sadly they ran out of towels one day there were never any beach towels available. There was no signage to the the gym. The Cleaning staff was incredibly friendly and courteous. It’s not their fault that Marriott and the property manager failed to anticipate a July 4 weekend and THE needs of a packed Hotel. I also paid for an ocean view and initially was given a view of the rooftop of the kitchen that had to close down because there was no air-conditioning. We were finally transferred to a room with the view of the ocean, but it was the furthest room back for the money we paid we should’ve had first year on the ocean. We did go to the restaurant on the first night no air-conditioning. We figured we’d power through and try it the second night, but they were, closed it was overpriced. The food wasn’t great the front desk personnel looked demoralized because there wasn’t one person that didn’t complain. It was a zoo. Coffee maker didn’t work in my room and in another family members room. I overheard other people complaining about their coffee maker. Mine was unplugged. I plugged it in in several places it still didn’t work. This place is a mess. Shame on you, Marriott. Should’ve started the Remodel sooner putting the staff in this position was inexcusable.

Great stay beach access and friendly staff great views

We were informed at check in that there was no hot water, the options given were to cancel and go somewhere else or take a discount of 50% for the first nite

We arrived July 2nd it was 105 degrees outside and 110 inside the Ashore lobby, the place was a sauna. No ice, no working coffee pot, they ran out of towels and no phone in our room to complain 😂 On a positive note, the ladies checking guests in were professional and maintained a great attitude, they shouldn't have to work in those conditions either. I dont know how they stood there for so many hours in that heat and humidity! The bar staff were great too and our room, though lacking a few amenities listed was clean and very humid! Our sheets felt wet, it was gross. Never again!

First room they put my family in was not clean, hair all over in the bathroom, floor was not swept or mopped and ac was broken. They told me i had to wait for another room. Finally around 7 i went back to the front desk as I still did not receive a call with an update for the new room that I originally payed and requested, again that room was still not not ready but they did have another room they could give me. This room did have a balcony unlike the first room they put me in however the door was broken so unfortunately we were unable to use it. Room cleanliness was okay at least no hair in the bathroom. Very disappointing overall with our stay with the amount they charge and the pictures they show online i was expecting so much better.

We were thinking this property was top notch but it most definitely wasn't. Hair on counter in bathroom on floor and shower wall, the toilet seat was cracked, it looked as if someone cut a piece out of it. When I picked up the phone to call the front desk there wasn't a dial tone to call the front desk, the phone cord was taken out the back of the phone so I put it back in and still dead, didn't wk. Ooh and the restaurant ac broke down so our reservation got canceled.

My biggest takeaway: if you stay here, book directly with the hotel, not through Expedia. I can’t prove it affected our service, but we couldn’t use our Marriott Bonvoy benefits, and this is the second disappointing experience I’ve had booking through a third party. We paid over $800/night after taxes/fees. The room was large, modern, and comfortable. Beach access was convenient, the terrace was a nice place to relax, and the outdoor bar had great drinks, including options for kids. Housekeeping was excellent. Unfortunately, renovations affected the stay far more than expected. The convenience store was closed, and communication was poor. We thought room service didn’t exist because nothing explained you must call the front desk to be transferred. We requested help with the safe and refrigerator, were told someone would come, but no one ever did. The safe had to be unlocked by staff, so we carried our valuables all day. The refrigerator barely cooled, Wi-Fi was very slow, outlets were broken, the room door jammed, the balcony was tiny, and the lobby A/C struggled in 100° weather. Parking was the biggest headache. We spent 30 minutes circling for a space, and overflow parking required crossing a busy street with beach gear. Bring a beach wagon. The pool was tiny, overcrowded, we were hit twice by volleyballs, and there was no lifeguard. Nice hotel with potential, but not worth the price.

No toilet paper in the room, the fridge had old and moldy leftovers, when you walked on the balcony you were met with splashes of water from something above. Parking was a nightmare. There definitely isn’t enough to accommodate guests. No towels by the pool. They advertise this as a “resort and beach club” and literally nothing about it gave that vibe. Absolutely NOT worth the money, not even for the proximity to the beach. DO NOT STAY HERE. I want my money back.

No hot water. They never told us prior to check in. We had no hot water from Sun 6/21-Tues late evening 6/23. Checked out on Wed 6/24. The bar only could serve canned beer or canned wine. The restaurant was closed. They did give us 50% on the first 2 days. However their price was higher to begin with than Expedia quoted! I’m still confused over the charged amount. Imagine taking cold sponge baths at the bath room sink on your vacation. This was a let down and we always dreamed of staying there since it had been the Clarion.

The biggest issue was that there was an open, exposed section of wall missing underneath the bathroom sink, allowing us to literally see into the neighboring room—and they could see into ours. This was a major privacy concern and completely unacceptable for a hotel room. To make matters worse, as we were leaving our room one day, a hotel employee entered our room right in front of us without knocking or confirming that we had checked out. It was unsettling and made us question the hotel’s respect for guest privacy. Between the exposed wall and staff entering occupied rooms, we did not feel our privacy was adequately protected. I hope management addresses these issues, as they are significant and should not happen at any hotel.

We arrived on a Friday night. It’s busy with many people checking in. Saturday morning the in room coffee pot doesn’t work. We tried to call the front desk but the phone doesn’t work. Then we walk downstairs to get coffee and the convenience store inside the hotel is being renovated. So we go to the restaurant. Manager seems annoyed that we want some coffee to go. Then we walk downstairs to the beach to get our spot set up. One of the reasons we stay here is because they have umbrellas and chairs and towels for hotel guests. We get down there and are told at 9am there are no more chairs umbrellas or towels. Ok then. So we decide to go buy some stuff. On the way back thru the hotel I hear a guest mention there is no hot water in the building. When we asked we were told no hot water until Monday! I’m fairly certain they let us check in knowing there was no hot water. We left the hotel and went somewhere else. They only offered us half off our stay. As i was checking out they continued to check people in knowing full well there was no hot water. Never staying here again. It’s a shame because i have stayed here many times over the years

Would be an awesome place at full operation. Water and construction limitation issues are significant and seems hotel was not ready for full operational for guests. Staff was great but unfortunately and understandably overwhelmed and should be commended for having to deal with such issues.

Two great restaurants and great beach concierge, but hotel maintenance is subpar . No internet for 3 days , no hot water Father’s Day weekend, no working ice machines , hole in bathroom ceiling, must request housekeeping if you want it . Super overpriced for poorly maintained property. Undergoing repairs. Marriott did reduce price of stay at checkout for lack of basic amenities. Do better Marriott

Property was under construction, room had sand on floor when we walked in and was dirty, NO HOT water the entire 3 day stay, and there was a hair in the food. It was way to expensive for how terrible the stay was.

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

Except for no hot water on the first day everything was great

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

We stayed there when there was a 4 day issue with no hot water, so we basically had to take cold showers for the duration of our stay. The issue was known before we arrived, but we weren’t told until we arrived. The booking was deceiving as it mentioned “Beach front” view and balcony, but it ended up being g a partial view from the side of the building, and barely enough room to stand on a partial balcony. Also, the rooms didn’t include microwaves! I’ve never experienced that. So we had no way to warm up food! The booking mentioned this was a Marriott property, but I later found out that Marriott had nothing to do with the management of the hotel. There are some nice amenities here, including the bar and restaurant; but we couldn’t take advantage of them much during our stay as the water situation shut them down. Keep in mind this entire hotel does not have a full ocean view because of its position on the beachfront. Only partial views at best! If you’re looking for a full balcony and ocean view, you won’t find it here.

No hot water, no ice, place completely under renovations, no food, leak in the bathroom sink, 1 man balcony very scary and didn't look safe. We left a day early. Also 21$ a night to park on top of $300 a night. Very poor! A lot of money for nothing. Staff was nice but not easy to understand due to language barrier. Will never go back! Good Luck

The hotel is a good hotel clean room , well located with polite staff, convenient at the beach w chairs, towels, umbrella. Beach bar with a delicious salad. My only huge concern is the hotel didn’t have hot water; no one communicated before/ on check in . The problem didn’t fix for the 2 nights we stayed.

    Perfecto!
