Was okay, but was expecting an oceanfront view and got a side view facing a roof on the 3rd & 4th floor.
-
The hotel itself was amazing, however, the parking fees were not. It is unfortunate that parking fees are not included with the hotel stay.

This hotel was amazing! 10/10 recommend

I've stayed at this property a few times this year. It's situated well in Ocean City and close enough to all necessary attractions. Previous interactions were more positive than my most recent visit. For example, the new restaurant closes a little early (9 PM) and the bar closes at 11 PM (last call was at 10:30PM). As a business traveler, these operating hours can be a bit of a challenge. Overall, it's still a great option for Ocean City.

Since our stay last year, the hotel has added several new charges, including parking and fees for beach umbrellas and lounge chairs. Meanwhile, the beach towels are extremely small, worn out, and look like they should have been replaced a long time ago. If guests are being charged more, the quality and level of service should reflect that. The most disappointing part of our stay happened after I was stung multiple times by jellyfish while swimming at the hotel beach. There was no warning or signage about jellyfish in the water. Obviously, the hotel cannot control the ocean, but when there is an issue affecting guests that day, especially families with children, some type of notice would be helpful. What I find unacceptable is that when I went to the front desk after being stung all over my torso and asked for a first aid kit, the manager told me they did not have one. His only suggestion was that he could call 911. A beachfront hotel with a swimming pool, hundreds of guests, and families with children should have basic first aid supplies available. I wasn’t asking for medical treatment—I was asking for basic first aid after being injured on the property. We have returned to this hotel three times because we previously enjoyed staying here. Unfortunately, this visit felt like we were paying more while receiving less. Additional fees are one thing

Well, after 7:30, I called more than 5 times to all departments except the restaurant; nobody answered, and they keep in advance $200 for each room, $100 in advance. I had two rooms just in case something broke, but one room had floor damage. Wood was sticking out. I almost cut my foot, and in the other room one of the main lights did not work. It had one of those pull-chain lights, but the chain was missing and they have a small balcony with a sliding door the sliding door never opens even if it’s a beach view you will not be able to have a sea view. You'll be able to see from the side at an angle maybe a little bit.

The room was just ok. It had only 1 usable outlet plug (literally one) on the night stand. The other 2 outlets were on the opposite sides of the room, one by the door with no tables (I had to charge my phone from the floor) and the second outlet was for the TV, coffee machine and light so not usable. Side note, very poor lighting in the room. Just seemed to have a lot of night lights on instead of real light. The best part of the stay was the staff who were all wonderful. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Something else to note, that I learned the hard way, is that the Hotel itself is oceanfront, but the rooms have a Partial Ocean View. It's still a nice view but not oceanfront. You also cannot hear the ocean because the AC units outside are so loud. The balcony was very small and really has no purpose. You can stand out there but not for long because the condensation from the upstairs AC unit drips and you can't sit out there. The elevator was also super slow. And because it was so slow, it was always packed so that was no fun. It was not miserable but definitely not what I expected, and we won't be going back. I would give the staff 5 stars and the hotel itself a 3/4. It was clean but a bit rundown with lipstick to cover it up.

The cleanliness was terrible. The coffee pot was broken. They never came in to clean our rooms, change bedding staff at front desk, but always busy. The tap room staff made you stand there waiting for a drink never attend it to you not even a smile on their face so much money to stay at this hotel where there should be more class

Location is great. Ocean front. Expedia was advertising Ashore is providing chairs and umbrellas free of charge. Not true I was charged $39 for 2 chairs and 1 umbrella. The property told me it is no longer a policy to provide beach umbrellas and chairs. Is Expedia going to reimburse me?

Upon our arrival, there was no room available to check in. It was already after the advertised check-in time of 4PM. After we received our room keys, we carried our bags to our room as no luggage cart was available. Our room, directly across from the elevators, had a door that was too big for the frame. It needs to be shaved down with a wood planing tool. I had to ram my shoulder into the door to get it open. Once inside, we had to yank the door open with our entire body weight to get out. Each and every time we entered or exited the room. Down at the beach, we asked for chairs and an umbrella. We were told we had to pay to rent them, despite the fact that the hotel’s website advertises chairs and umbrellas being included with your stay. The bar areas and restaurant were good. Overall, our stay was mediocre. I expected more from a Marriott property and when paying almost $500/night to stay at the Ashore.

Also I own two Marriott timeshares as well as a Bonvoy member. Very loyal to the brand and upset I got treated like this.

The staff was very nice. Rooms were very clean. I just wish the pool had more supervision because there were too many kids in the pool throwing balls

I would never stay at this hotel again I was unable to get my room clean the shower drain was backed up I went to customer service five times requesting help they never gave me help I asked for a discount and they would not give me a discount because I booked through Expedia. I will never book through Expedia again because you're not able to get any credits when you go through a third party to get discounts on a room. Customer service is terrible. I need to figure out how I can get a credit from Expedia from the hotel because of the poor service that I received.

Very clean room staff was so nice
-
no fresh towels nothing
-
Great location and clean. Fantastic lounge area on the beach.
-
I didn't like the fact that I had to pay for parking. Also the mattress was really dirty. Had to get it replaced

The experience was both sweet and bitter. Unfortunately, I did not get the room I had booked, which was very disappointing. The staff members were not friendly or mindful, and they did not seem interested in addressing my concerns. While there were some positive aspects to the stay, the room issue and poor customer service had a significant impact on my overall experience.
