The Shangri La Motel

Definitely not ocean front but you can't beat it for the price. They have a nice well maintained pool. Friendly, welcoming staff who were attentive to our needs. The rooms are small but they have kitchenettes. They have a range and oven as well as a microwave and an almost full-sized refrigerator . Perfect for a couple or a small family. The balcony or patio, if you are on the ground floor, gives you more space. But the balconies double as a walk way to other rooms so aren't completely private. Half Walls divide each balcony from the next so it's not exactly a shared space either. The bathroom featured a heat lamp in the ceiling and the shower was good. The beds were just ok.

People smoke every where specially in the pool. First 5 minutes check in got the room and the toilet wasn't filling up water by themselves, they try to blame on us that we broke them😡. After 20 minutes can't fix they changed new room.The room too small furniture on the way.....

Everything about this place was wonderful! The room was very comfortable with a kitchenette & a full size refrigerator. There is free parking on the property & the beach is about a 3 minute walk. The delicious coffee is available all day & the pool is delightful! The front desk is open 24 hours & Susan & Len were very gracious & helpful as were the cleaning staff! A very convenient location also because shops & restaurants, etc. are nearby. It’s located on the main road so there is some noise from traffic but considering all the good things, that’s a minor issue!! You can’t beat the price so if you’re considering a trip to Ocean City Maryland, just book it, you’ll love it!!

The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made me love it here from the start. The on-site pool looked lovely, and the location was amazing. Super close to a low-key, lovely stretch of beach, and near great restaurants. The rooms felt comfortable, clean, and spacious. The shower didn’t get super hot, but after days of sun and beach, it didn’t matter all that much!

This motel is in a good location, with a very short walk to the beach! The room was quite spacious and clean. Everything was in good working order. There was sufficient parking during our stay at the end of August. The lack of curtains on the east-facing window meant that the morning sun was somewhat bright in the room. Drawable curtains would be nice. This is a minor complaint.

Reasonably priced. Fairly well kept up given the age of the hotel. Easy walk to the beach. Kids enjoyed the pool. Pleasant staff. Lots of road noise, even inside the room. Had a kitchenette, but no counter space made it difficult to actually use. Uncomfortable, scratchy bed linens. Aging bathroom with limited storage space.

Went for a quick girls weekend. Great location, friendly staff, great pool and very clean!

Kitchenette was better than I imagined, Len, the manager, was super nice and helpful with suggestions on how to best enjoy our time there. The pool was clean and well maintained. Would definitely return.

I read a lot of complaints about road noise, but it didn't bother us. We knew that we were staying at a hotel on the street.

The room was very clean and comfortable. I was able to use the kitchen to cook breakfast had everything I needed to cook.Parking on the property was good kept the same space for the three days that I was there. Very friendly staff!

We've been coming here for years now. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean, the staff are amazing and accommodating and the pool is great! We like that it's not a long drive to the boardwalk, but far enough away where the area is quiet at night. The parking lot is sufficient, we never had a problem getting a spot when returning from our random activities. We'll be back next year for sure! Other than having to leave at the end of our vacation there was nothing not to like. It was perfect for us.

Our stay at Shangri-La was a wonderful experience and a throwback to the old days of traveling. While this motel is old, it is perfectly preserved, very clean and refreshed in appearance, and completely charming. The pool was perfect and had plenty of chairs and umbrellas available. I would definitely recommend any travelers to avoid the big, cold modern hotels and come to Shangri-La where the staff is friendly and you’ll greeted warmly. And don’t forget to say ‘hi’ to the night check-in host, Larry.

Loved Larry at the front desk! Loved that we had a full size fridge. The pool was warm and clean. It was close to the beach! Me and my 3 girls had a wonderful stay!
