We have been vacationing in Okoboji Iowa for years. In all these years this was our first stay. It's located adjacent to Brooks Golf Club Resort. This in years past was all the same property. Under new ownership w new name and we decided to try it. Terrific decision! Check in was very easy. The lobby was clean and bright. The hallway to our room was clean and our room was excellent. New mattresses, pillows, and new linens were obvious. A Very nice room and bathroom w a separate vanity room. Exhaust fan worked great and the tub drained great too! The Lake Okoboji Resort and Conference Center is it's new name. Great bar and restaurant so you wouldn't have to leave if you didn't want. Great outdoor pool out near the 1 Tee box. The pool was very well kept too and it wasn't full of noisey kids. This resort does have another indoor pool and kids water play area so thats the pool the kids used! Terrific stay we certainly will go back! This year even! B and T ,Omaha Neb.

The room was clean but the hallway smelled like sewage. The pool was filthy and the hot tub was broke. The staff was very welcoming.
-
Pool was dirty and staff even came out, looked at it and never came back. No elevator which made it difficult to carry luggage up stairs.
-
The breakfast room was a long way from our room and there was a problem with the decaf coffee - a minor inconvenience. The pool was even further away but, we ended up with no extra time to swim anyway. Our rooms were comfortable and clean.

Convenient

Great location. Sliding doors to outside did not lock.

The place was dated but clean and they had a nice breakfast.

Some areas updated. Some rooms still have furniture that needs replacing. Bed was very comfortable. Lightning throughout the room and hallways was dim. Only 1 tiny soap provided for a 2 nt stay. Continental breakfast is no different than any other hotel. Enjoy breakfast elsewhere and enjoy the view.

In room refrigerator did not work. Coffee maker was full of what appeared to be spoiled milk. I asked the front desk about both and he said he could only leave a note. They did wipe most of the spoiled milk. (Yes most) Never did fix fridge. Breakfast was frozen. Not cold but frozen. Restaurant/bar was great and the staff super friendly.

We had a great time during our stay. We were disappointed that the hot tub wasn’t working. It wasn’t working last year either when we stayed a couple nights. Seems to be an issue every year. But other than that it was clean, and the staff was friendly .

The hot tub did not work it was freezing. The pillows in the room were awful and lumpy. Our bathroom in our room did not function well. A staff member came to the pool at 10 to get us out. We were cleaning all of our tables and making sure everything was clean and the staff member literally turned off the lights in the pool area on us. That was not pleasant.

Confidently located The beds in our room were both awful

The room was very nice and clean. I appreciated the hot breakfast. Some of the breakfast items were not thoroughly hot.

The sewer smell was unbearable!

My first time in Okoboji. Had a great time. Loved that there was a bar. We look for that when picking hotels. Bartenders were helpful, with them still learning i think. We had the broasted chicken and pizza which was very good. Wanted to use hot tub but must not have been working since it was cold 😫. Liked that there was a pool outside to relax at. Traffic was crazy so we walked everywhere but most restaurants and bars weren't too far so very convenient. Would definitely stay again.

Room very musty, half used bottle of lotion in bathroom from previous guests, amenities do not match website, garbage in pool, no working hot tub. For price spent it wasn’t worth the $$.

Overall, the room was fine but there were some shortcomings. My wife and I have physical disabilities. 1. A handrail needs to be added for getting in and out of the shower. 2. The toilet was low and needs a handrail added for getting up and down. 3. My wife has MS and does not tolerate heat. The air conditioner worked but it was inconsistent and we had to get up and adjust the temperature both during the day and at night. Our party occupied both 1314 and 1316. Room 1316 appeared to be more consistent.

It was a nice place at one time. Really needs spruced up and updated. Had a funky smell in the hallways. The indoor pool is really in need of work.

Breakfast was good. Always restocking. We liked the chairs outside the patio doors. Got to sit and relax before going to bed. Hot tub not working!! Was looking forward to it as we had a rainy chilly day. Website did not say this either. Room smell was damp and musty.
