Grand Hotel Orlando at Universal Blvd - Shuttle to Theme Parks

The rooms were very damp and smelt like mold. The first room they gave me was too strong to even take a deep breath. The second room was still damp and smelt, musty and moldy algorithm. Is everything at this hotel was great.

The location was great! The size of the room was perfect. The front desk employee was very nice & helpful Don't expect to check in early here. I know it's never guaranteed but they had us wait until 3pm on the dot. Not even at 255pm were we allowed to check in. We had one towel for a room for 2 people. And on our very hard king size bed, 2 very very small pillows.

Proximity to the universal was nice. And the shuttle was great! It was dirty, the staff was rude and unhelpful, they refused to bring us pillows or towels and the staff ignored the phones.

Staff was nice and location was convient but had other issues. Multiple outlets didn’t work or would work then not work Water would frequently go on the colder side fast. Didn’t provide cleaning after staying more than 2+ days and i asked front desk and said i would but never recieved

Breakfast was very basic and processed. They would’ve been better off providing individually, packaged pastries, fruit, and cereal.

To start off I booked the hotel on line for what I thought was a flat price when I get to the desk I have to pay an extra 60 on top of the 50 deposit ok got that out the way go up to the room the room is freezing cold like below 60 so turn off the a/c next thing you know the floors and carpet is wet feels nasty as hell to walk on tell them at the front desk they say you have to keep it below 60 so that doesn’t happen so either freeze or feel like you’re stepping in a swamp then sheets where dirty the toilet was clogged and to top it off most of their elevators where out of service so if u wasn’t in a room close to the working ones I had a mission ahead of you and they don’t even have a microwave in the rooms yea definitely the last time I’m staying there

When I arrive at the hotel around 1:30 in the morning with two teenagers, the receptionist tells me that my reservation was canceled and that he had sent me a message that I never received. I entered different pages to try to get another place and it kept appearing that they had rooms available... in short, the hotel was good location and everything but bad organization when making reservations!

Room was very nice and the bed was super comfy. Its location to universal was awesome and very close to International drive and a lot of food options. It hosted breakfast but we didn’t go because it’s a motel and its large and I was too tired to walk all the way to the lobby and too bothered to drive. But the room it was in was clean and spacious.

The location is very good; although the room was small, it was very clean and comfortable. For our trip which involved being out all day and just coming back to shower and sleep it was perfect. The hotel also has a pool and a gym. The breakfast was very limited and not very good.

One of the biggest reasons I booked here was because it says it has a shuttle that will take you to the theme parks nearby. While this is true, the appeal for it is limited since it departs once a day for Disney at 7:15am and once a day for Universal at 9am.

Before booking with this location, I called in advance and spoke with reception about an early check in which they said they were able to accommodate for a $30 fee. I went ahead and booked based off this information and drove 5+ hours. We arrived around 6am and I was told by the reception that they didn’t have any rooms and I wouldn’t be able to check in until after 3pm. Before I could even say anything the clerk walked away and went to sit down with AirPods in, I called him back to the desk and asked about refund options. We weighed the odds and decided we would wait IN OUR CAR until city walk opened two hours later… we went to the parks and came back at 2:37 and were unpleasantly met by Lorna the “supervisor” we were unable to check in still. At this point we had been up 16+ hours. When we went to our room, everything smelt moldy, the carpets were wet, the tile was moist, and the walls were sweating. As a Floridian this is NOT common. I told Lorna this the next day because we were too tired to deal with this at the moment and she said she would have maintenance come look but that’s “what happens” maintenance closed that room and switched us to a cleaner room with no smell. The whole stay was more exhausting than relaxing. I’ve stayed many places and this was beyond pitiful.
