Driftwood Beach Motel

Location The property was run down and dated. The staff were miserable. Had to leave a $200 security deposit for the week stay which was not mentioned while booking. Also the room was so run down, dirty and falling apart that if they kept the $200 to put back onto the room it would still look like it needed to be condemned. The tiles on the floor. The floor tiles were lifting up on the corners and were loose. The gap around the front door frame was almost big enough to put a finger between it. The whole place needs a total refurb

For the value it was great and so pet friendly and even friendly for outdoor smoking The pillows were terrible the bedding was old and they were having some kind of party making it inconvenient for parking and awkward to enjoy a night swimming

Exceptional

The property is older and it shows in some places. We had a towel hanger come off the wall, and you can tell things have been painted over many times and the rusty fridge has charm, and some of the finishes aren’t exactly crisp and new. But none of those things made or broke our stay, and I definitely wouldn’t consider them a reason not to stay here. Check-in was pretty basic and there aren’t a ton of amenities, but the real reason to stay here is the location. The pool was nice, beach access was wonderful, and their stretch of beach is absolutely beautiful. Being able to enjoy the view and walk right out to the water was exactly what we wanted. Parking was lucky. Feel like we got the last possible spot. Hopefully u Overall, we had a really nice night and enjoyed our stay. We’ll definitely be back to Ormond Beach again!

The convenience was wonderful. Had a patio that led directly to the pool, which is exactly what we wanted. Getting on & off the beach was easy, with multiple beach access points. There is no shade at the pool, and the beds were so hard with only 2 pillows per bed.

The beachfront location was the best thing about this place. Check-in lady was less than friendly or welcoming. When I booked the the room, I indicated that we would have a pet. There was no mention of what the pet fee actually was until we arrived. Mirror above the sink filthy. (See photo). Woke up to a roach running across the room on Sunday. (See photo). Totally false advertising. This room was like a dark, dank cave; no window, no sliding door to the beach. The room was also advertised as having a kitchenette. Thank God we opted to get groceries once we arrived, because if we had groceries with us, there would have been no way to prepare them.

The ocean view The beds were rock hard, towels in the bathroom had yellow stains on them, I was upcharged once we checked in for a balcony view that I originally booked through booking.com Once we got into the “upgraded room” we realized the TV was broken (screen had two black circles and lines all over the screen). We reported it to the front desk, and they took off $15 for the tv inconvenience. We were told to call the desk once we returned back to the hotel for them to come swap the tv out and were informed they attempted to come into our room without us present (even though the do not disturb sign was on the door, and they knew we had dogs inside the room). We ended up checking flour a day early and going home. I will never stay there again.

The location on the beach with the balcony was wonderful! The beds were very hard and uncomfortable.

The biggest thing they dont tell you is that when you get there yes you've already paid for the room, but they they take an extra $100 out of your account but then tell you it will go back into your account I 3-5 business days

ocean front, beach access building is getting water damage and mold on some areas, expected some due to the ocean front but it smelled very strongly when we first got there before we kicked the ac on

The only good thing is it was on the beach When we first arrived the front little lobby had a horrible smell. We got our room key and there was a rat roaming around by the outside doors. The room was not very clean and we had hair in our shower. They did not come on day two to give us towels. We sent our son to get towels and the front desk told him no so we went up to get towels and they would not give us wash clothes we were told we didn’t need them.
