The location is hard to beat. It was nicely situated to explore the area. The room is tiny. The ac in the room is right above the bed so if you are sensitive mind this peculiarity. In addition the offered breakfast is a little disappointing as it is in a crammed area right next to the reception desk. Finally throughout our 4 nights stay we did not have a cleaning once, admittedly we had a no not disturb sign on for the first night but the rest of the nights remained a mystery.

Great boutique hotel in the heart of old downtown Palo Alto

Cold breakfast (cereal, boiled eggs) was free and coffee was good quality. If you’re driving you should know that there is no parking or valet at the property. If you’re there on the weekend there’s a garage across the street with lower levels open to the public but it’s locked up between 10pm and 7am. During the week public parking is not allowed there, and most other parking is limited to 2 hours. I asked about parking at the front desk and the attendant was pretty vague. Hotel should provide detailed options for parking during your stay

Exceptional

Very good location, clean, reasonably friendly and helpful desk staff, air conditioning worked well, shower was strong and hot. My room was quite small, window on an ally, there was no light for the bed (reading required the overhead lights), breakfast area was cramped.

Disappointing

Great location No fridge in room, toilet has no proper door
-
Great location, but the rooms are very small and the staff was not so helpful.
-
Our fire alarm was going off all night due to low battery, we told the staff up front about it and when we got back late that night it still wasn’t changed. So in short it was frustrating and hard to sleep with the noise going off about every 30 seconds.
-
good location - room could use some more decor - felt like a dorm room a bit- very light blankets - no warm blanket
-
However, I stay for business and typically take calls in the AM. During this stay, the housekeeping staff knocked on my door a minimum of 3x while I was taking calls, before 9am PT. Check out is 12pm PT. In addition, the shower did not produce warm water, let alone hot water, for the entirety of my stay. Seems the hotel is going downhill a bit. Which is too bad considering the nice stays I have had in the past.

Simple, clean accommodations in walking distance to many restaurants and the Stanford campus (specifically the Frost Amphitheater).

The location was great. Free breakfast was simple but a very nice option. The rooms were very compact and the bathroom isn’t completely enclosed. Still great overall value.

No refrigerator in our very small room. Excellent staff and very clean hotel. Excellent location. You need to pay for a $25 a day parking pass for the public garage directly across the street..
