We stayed at the Sandcastle Hotel for 6 days/5 nights. Staff were very friendly. Easy to request for towels and other things we needed. Rooms were clean with great ocean and beach views. Hotel is right on the beach. Downtown is blocks away with many different local shops, restaurants, and farmers market on the pier. Loved our stay and will definitely stay again.

I don't recommend this place. Expensive for the inconvenience offered. We booked 2 rooms, started off being over charged at the front desk which was settled after I called them. Sleep deprived due to stumping heard in our room, I thought it was only our room so I went to my other family member's room and the same thing happened. Wheelchair commode present in our room which was not requested to be there so why did we get a room with wheelchair commode?? It seems like our room was a storage or something???? I called front desk regarding the stumping, all she said she'll check it out but nothing was addressed l, not even offered to transfer another room? During check out manager was there, asked me how's everything? I voiced out my concerns and all I heard was sorry and go on with how the building set up. Also bathroom flooded both rooms. Overall not recommended, I should have stayed at inn at the pier like the last time. Will not come back to this hotel, very dissatisfied!!! Like I said I did not signed up for a hotel who doesn't have noise reduction, literally you can hear people stumping on your ceiling.

Be cautious. Location was great; close to the beach, and the hotel pictures looked clean. That is why I booked a 2 night stay with 2 queen beds on July 27-29. Family and I had booked a room in 251. There was a serious leak from the ac that we didn't see until I myself slipped in the large puddle by the front door. I then notified nighttime front desk. We had then been informed to move to room 351 upstairs. After moving everything upstairs. Approximately 20 minutes after being in that room the toilet started shooting out water from the side covering the tub and floor every time toilet was flushed. Back to calling front desk and again tring to figure out what to do so none of my family or myself gets hurt by slipping again. I was informed that there were 2 rooms with queen beds but only for first night then we would have to switch rooms again tomorrow even though we were already there and the future customers for that room wasn't here until tomorrow. I thought we would be priority. The office wouldn't accommodate further with 2 queen beds. We were then moved into room 352 with only 1 king bed and small couch that became a bed that was uncomfortable for my child. Front desk provided a roll out bed that was not the cleanest and not comfortable in the slightest for my other child. Each time i contacted front desk they informed me that maintenance was not available. And that was the events throughout the trip I had for my family and myself. Only receiving an apology during stay.

The room was not cleaned properly as we could find sand in the closet also charged $25 extra because I booked thru Expedia which was not mentioned while booking.

We go to Pismo Beach every year and Sand Castle is our destination. Great location, recently remodeled, great staff and has now added a complete restaurant in house for overall convenience. Amenities include bicycles, beach chairs, toys, towels and luggage carts. Parking is limited outside at $30.00 per day.
