The location!! You can’t beat how close it is to the local shops, restaurants and beach. The size and overall cleanliness of the rooms was decent. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Great hot shower. Musty smell in room 102 that never goes away. Parking is very limited. Room somewhat updated but had rust around metal fixtures, more attention to detail on the cleaning would help. Blowdryer filled with lint and handle dirty.

We made our reservations through Expedia and noted that we SPECIFICALLY needed a room with NO STAIRS due to recent knee surgeries. However, when we checked in, the clerk gave us a room on the TOP floor, which was 3 flights up!! I went back to let the clerk know that we had noted the NEED for a room with NO STAIRS to access, since my roommate & I just recently had knee replacements. The clerk then told me that when we use a "third party" site, such as Expedia, they don't see any of our requests and are under NO obligation to honor them. Since there was NO REFUND available, we were forced to stay. So, we both slowly & painfully dragged our suitcases up 3 flights of stairs without ANY help from staff. This was my very 1st experience using Expedia and I was NOT impressed. However, I don't know if this can be blamed on Expedia or the hotel. I just know I wasn't impressed.

The staff were helpful and the room was clean but spartan. There were no dishes or pots and pans in the kitchen so it wasn't useful. W left a day early because a cockroach crawled on my boyfriend. This happens,

Last minute booking, reasonable price, friendly manager. This is an old hotel without an elevator so we had to carry our bags up outside stairs.

Choose walking distance from downtown. The tenants next door to my room was up all night fighting and arguing. I got no sleep.
