Courtyard by Marriott Pittsburgh University Center

Note that breakfast is not included and the breakfast food available was overpriced and not very good. There is a Starbucks a few blocks away. The staff were helpful and the room was very quiet but stuffy. Oddly there was no fan in the bathroom or elsewhere in the room. The window view of the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial was nice.

Parking is expensive. But if you're a weekend traveler you can park on the street for free.

The facility was perfectly clean and the staff was polite and accommodating. We had breakfast one day, and while it was very good it was also expensive. They have an air freshener pumping in the check in area which is very fragrant. Overall this facility was very nice and I would recommend it.

We needed a place to stay when we had an extended power outage. The room and hotel were so clean, the staff was excellent, and this is a great location. I have recommended this location for anyone needing a place to stay in Oakland, as it’s so convenient for anyone at Pitt or UPMC. The food was great as well!

I enjoyed my stay at the courtyard downtown Pittsburgh, my choice of accommodations while touring the local art museums and also riding my bicycle on the waterfront trails. I plan to return later this year.

Room was ok but the bathroom was very smelly, damp and musty. The 2nd day of our stay, we were short of 1 set of towel and the next day our room was not cleaned at all. The beds and bathroom were as we left them in the morning and trash was not picked up. We ran out of shower gel on the last day. I complained at the desk since manager was not there and asked the lady to make sure the manager is made aware.
