Mansions on Fifth Hotel

Very unique buildings with original woodwork and stained glass windows. Extremely comfortable beds and very nice bathrooms. Easy things to maintain, like the wooden floors in the dining area and the carpet on the stairs were worn.

Close to Pitt and Carnegie Mellon, looks better in person than in photographs. Check-in was pleasant and the live music in the bar was an added bonus. The room was large and not overly cluttered. The beds were not the most comfortable.

We were very excited for our stay in the large castle-like mansion and ended up in the Amberson House instead. No elevator, no bathtub for the kids, and the mattresses weren’t comfortable. Housekeeping didn’t empty our trash or replenish our coffee the whole stay even though they came in to replace towels. No ice except at front desk in the other building, had to go over there to get additional towels too. Hotel breakfast was a $15 egg sandwich. Room not very soundproof and we could hear the front door slamming from the second floor which means everyone in the building probably heard our baby crying too. Fridge in room but no microwave anywhere in the building. No lock on the bathroom door. Not comfortable walking distance from any food (15 minutes minimum). Overall it was an okay stay but for $50 more per night than a Marriott definitely not worth it.

Beautiful and great location That doesn’t tell you that you have to walk up flights of stairs. It says it has an elevator, but it was not working. There wasn’t even assigned so we were stuck in it for a while. Our bathroom door did not completely close. Took pictures that vent were disgusting.

Location No lift for the higher floor. No staff to help with the bags. No restaurant that has ala carte or buffet (orders are taken in advance for breakfast). Sofa bed was not soft at all ..could feel the spring - they don't have extra mattress either. Quite a poorly fitted, miserly run property. Will not recommend it to anyone. Room was tiny with half of the room blocked by a sloping roof.

Beautiful historic property! Spacious clean room! Grand entrance. Homey feel. Absolutely stunning details, the main entrance has a beautiful grand entrance. Staff were nice. Bar was comfortable. When I come back to Pittsburg this would be my first place to stay! Nothing

We've been staying at Mansions on Fifth for several years now. We love the hotel and location. However, we were disappointed to learn this time that the absolutely wonderful breakfast that was offered earlier (for like $22) is not longer offered. Instead, for $15 you can get a pre-wrapped dried out croissant from some factory in Pittsburgh. Major disappointment. They have the facilities to offer breakfast, all they need to do is cook it.

No bellman

It’s a nice boutique hotel. Small with old world details. I liked the fresh flowers and the charm of times bygone. The property is small with not much to do . Staff was unfriendly and rude.

We only stayed one night for our anniversary. It was great safe, room (bed and bathroom) nice and comfortable. We sleep well. Two regrets - not getting breakfast and not staying longer. We'll be back! Highly recommend!

Great location. Staff friendly. Lots of stairs to get to room.

The customer service was great. I didn’t like the floors as I saw stains on the carpet. I also believe that I was attacked by bedbugs in my sleep because I got up itching a lot. I had sores in my head and neck and I was scratching so much. Also, the room was creepy and reminded me of a horror movie. I slept with the lights on.

It's a beautiful hotel and the main house is spectacularly kept historical architecture. No coffee pods for the coffee pot provided

amazing place,very historic,staff was awesome, a must stay,room was not what i reserved 8 months in advance in the 5th ave house but was changed to 2nd house,which was amazing in itself and worked out great,but it was the point of not being told of the change in advance. but these things happen and it was a great stay
