Mansions on Fifth Hotel

It was a beautiful room, staff were friendly, and the live music on Thursday in the lounge was great.

The building was very special - beautiful stonework, woodwork, and stained glass. Being on a main road with cars whizzing by made walking a litte scary.

The hotel is clean and has all the necessary amenities, but the walls are thin and the road is loud.

Everyone was polite and property is well managed. We were only there for one night, but it was a great experience. We especially enjoyed the relaxing in the Oak Pub Room and learning more about the history of the amazing property. Will plan to stay again in future visits.

This is my favorite place to stay when I visit my son at College. It’s in walking distance to Carnegie Mellon and the parking is included in the price which helps. The reason I gave it four stars is because the property could use a little bit of updating. Maybe some new mattresses and checking out the drip sound in the bathroom. But otherwise I do love the place. I just wish it was available more often.

-Arrived Friday afternoon. Lobby of the main mansion is very nice- dark wood paneling and a classic mansion feel. Good start but downhill from there. -The front desk clerk checked me in and gave me my key. He told me that my room is in the other house and that it is a three-flight walk-up to get there. No elevator. I was not given this information when I booked the room. While my wife and I are very fit, I had recently injured my knee; in addition, I had a lot of equipment to carry to my room (I am a musician and had guitars, keyboards, etc.). Walking up three flights of stairs is not acceptable unless they had alerted me to this fact beforehand. -The room had nothing luxurious about it. While it was "fine", there was no luxurious furniture, artwork, or decoration. -The bed made plastic-sounding noises whenever we moved. Sheets were not soft. -Toiletries consisted of three small containers of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. There was only enough body wash for one person for one showering event. -While this was considered a "bed and breakfast-style hotel", there was no breakfast included. Given a paper to order pre-made breakfast the night before. $15 for a pre-made sandwich. -When I checked out the clerk never even asked how our stay was. Just asked if we wanted a receipt. This said it all.

Ceiling was leaking steadily; there were no empty rooms so we couldn’t be moved and weren’t keen on packing up again and driving to new hotel at 1030 PM. No rebate or credit was given by either the hotel or Booking.com after I sat on hold for 30 minutes. Would’ve settled for $100 off the $280 room! See above!

I like the place. A true gem.

We loved our stay at the Mansion! It was clean, staff were friendly and the property was beautiful. Cannot wait to stay there again.

Exceptional

Large rooms in a Castle like atmosphere. No real kitchen but offers fee for breakfast likely brought from outside vendor to order. Portable room AC but worked efficiently. Would stay again. Free WiFi.

It’s a perfectly nice place to stay. The rooms are simple and clean and parking is included.

The historical atmosphere, architecture, and decor of the mansion is amazing. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to us. Very nice breakfast. Nothing. Everything was great!

The property is beautiful, nice gothic vibe, a lot of flowers- very good. Woman at the lobby didn’t notify us that the room is ready although she knew that we are waiting. It is not friendly. Our sofa had candy from other customers which was not pleasant experience for us.
