Quality Inn Port Arthur – Nederland

The bed was comfortable. Location good. Very run down. Hair left in bath tub. Molding came off floor when suitcase was rolled over. Air conditioner cooled well but was noisy. They set breakfast time from 5 am to 8 am to accommodate refineries workers staying there. Way too early for a tired traveler. Also there was discoloring on the ceiling that resembled mold. I reported it to the front desk clerk when we checked out.

I've stayed in lots of motels over the years, and this was the most disappointing of them all. The room and bed were malodorous, the furniture stained, the fixtures shabby and in poor repair, the tub was grungy and rust stained, and the toilet flush was weak, clogging twice in one overnight stay. But my biggest complaint is with management: we had booked a four night stay, but during the first night there we experienced a family emergency that meant we had to cut our stay in the area short. When I explained this to the front desk staff the next morning I was told that they could not alter the original booking on site, but needed authorization from Expedia. I reached out Expedia online and they contacted the property, only to be told that "only the property manager could alter the booking" and they were not on the property. So I ended up paying for three nights for an empty, poor quality motel room, all because none of the property staff was willing to take responsibility for trying to work with me to resolve this issue. I will never stay in another Quality Inn, and I don't recommend that anyone else do either.

Checked in late, paid online gave id and card, she ran card again, then came to my room at 2:47 am walked in saying it didn’t work but charges twice were already pending. But she ran it again for a third pending full room amount. Then again at 9am house keeping was trying to come in without even knocking. During check out the new desk service worker was wonderful I told her about all the extra pending charges and she handled it for me. I explained how crazy it was the girl coming to the room at 2:47 was
