Holiday Inn Express Charles Town by IHG

It's close to everything. Shuttle service. Wonderful breakfast, rooms are clean and comfortable. Front desk workers and friendly and very helpful. With regard to the shuttle service, the drivers are so personal, friendly, cordial. We've always had great conversations with the drivers on the way to and from the hotel, plus when called, are always prompt. We don't want to stay anywhere else when we are in the Charles Town area.

Convenient to where I wanted to be. Pretty much what you expect from a Holiday Inn Express so you know what you are getting.

The room was dirty. Not sure it was cleaned between guests. There was feces in the toilet and trash in the waste cans upon our arrival. The comforter had what appeared to be dried blood. The halls were not vacuumed. Overall very dirty. We have stayed at this property many times and have always had a pleasant experience in the past.

It’s in a convenient area. The carpet hadn’t been vacuumed. The bathroom floor was dirty. I picked my clothes up to put them in my dirty laundry up and there was someone’s breath right strip stuck to them. I also had made a dinner reservation at the casino for 4:45 for my birthday because I was told that I just have to come down to the desk for shuttle service. I had waited outside at first and when no shuttle came I went inside and asked for the shuttle. While I was waiting, a short long haired barefoot girl who seemed like an employee came to the desk talking about her ex and what was going on in her personal life with the girl behind the desk, cursing the entire time. Then I was told that there was no one to take me to the casino and that the shuttle didn’t start until 5:00. The manager had come in while I was outside and was told by the front desk person that he said no one could take me and then he left. I cannot drive at night and the shuttle service was the only reason I stayed there. If there is a schedule for the shuttle you should tell guests instead of telling them to just come down and ask for it when you’re ready to go. My last night was cut short because of it. When I checked out in the morning the woman at the desk with 2 braided pony tails was very rude. There also no drinks in the vending machines.

Overall clean. The desk staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful. Several breakfast options, all basic but meets industry standard in quality. No complaints.

I had requested a handicap accessible room with a roll in shower. We didn't get a handicap accessible bathroom so taking showers was out of the question for our 4 day stay.

Everything was awesome until 230am fire alarm but all good

The hotel offered a free shuttle service to the Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races about a mile away. From here we had about a 15 min drive to Harpers Ferry, which was the reason that I picked this hotel. There was a free continental breakfast, pretty standard but limited seating. We took our food to the room and ate it there. The room was clean and spacious with a Kuerig machine and coffee pods. (Hint: bring your own pods and creamers). The only concern we had was the noisy elevator when you were riding in it. It just didn’t sound normal to us. Enjoy your stay here!
