Econo Lodge Black Hills

The rooms here accomplished what I wanted just fine, so I rate them as average, nothing spectacular but nothing bad. The only suggestion I would have going forward in terms of the rooms would be an overhead fan and vent for the bathrooms, I could not find it anywhere. Perhaps it was somewhere that I may have missed, but I definitely could not find a switch or knob for one. With that, it does appear that they are still working on some things with the hotel, so those may already be planned for the future. The service and staff were polite to me, especially in the morning when I went to check out. They offered a complimentary breakfast each morning, which wasn't large but great to have, especially for the cheaper rates of this hotel. Overall, compared to my experience of -- at this point -- dozens of other hotels, overall service is average, which again, is just fine by me. I don't expect them to be going out of their way for everything I might need, but some people expect and want that. As for a caveat, I didn't have any issues with anything, so I can't rate how such an interaction would have gone. As for the location, it is quite nice. It's right off the highway, very easy to get to, isn't far from places you might want to get to in town.

I am fairly certain that my sheets on the bed were not washed. There were dark hairs when we threw back the blankets. Gross. The sheets were wrinkled—definitely not freshly cleaned and made beds. The smell was moldy.

Bugs in the room - some sort of little beetles. Stains on sheets and bedspread. Security latch broken. Cobwebs. Hallways had large waterspots on carpeting. Definitely not a 2.5 star rating like they somehow have. Will never stay again.

Since there was no housekeeping for the three days, they need to have more than one waste basket in the room. Plus they need to fix the faucet in the shower.

Not really. It is a good hotel.

Property was disgusting. Bedding was covered in hairs and lint, blankets were also way too thin. There was dirt and grime around the room, the window was disgusting it was covered in fingerprints and dirt, and the room smelled like someone sprayed a can of axe body spray in there right before we walked in. They left a maintenence paper openly out on the desk that said they had to spray 2 of the rooms for bed bugs!! Do not go here!!!

Roaches in the first room and the second room. Property has really gone downhill. Checked in and checked right out.

This motel is quite old and run-down in general. However, our room was very clean and neat, and the bed was comfortable.

Location Was not clean; had water pouring into our room from upstairs at 11:40 at night-no attention given to it by hotel personnel

Loved my stay at Econo Lodge Hotel. The breakfast was outstanding.

Breakfast was ok no meat., no scrambled egg or no biscuits and gravy. Hit food was cheese omelette. The pool area the water slide wasn't running. The beds were good and also the clean fullness.

The TV never work and I asked them.for.rwpair and it was.never.done. there arw.no.curtains on the windows and the.su makes it difficult to.sleep

Staff was very rude. We asked for extra pillows and were told there were no pillows available, if we didn’t like it he would be fine with us leaving. A hotel not having extra pillows is not credible. We would have left but everything else was booked and at last minute would cost a fortune. Never going back again.

The rooms were clean but the building itself looked like it was starting to be repaired but they stopped. Breakfast was okay

There's renovations going on and it's a mess. The refrigerator didn't cool very well.
