Great find in Rapid City! Interesting and well maintained architecture and style in a thoughtfully updated historic hotel. The rooftop bar is very fun!

A lot of history at this location. Was perfect for our days out to all the sites.

Had a minuscule bathroom which is not acceptable in this hotel category. We stayed on the 8th floor but could hear all street noises through the night ( thin window glass). Breakfast is in an Irish pub near the lobby with no healthy choice on the menu. This Hilton hotel is not worth the price. At minimum the hotel should describe rooms with very small bathrooms on its website so that customers are not disappointed.

Friendly staff, good location

Centrally located and very convenient. Quirky old hotel with a friendly staff and nice amenities. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Mt. Rushmore, Badlands National Park, Custer State Park, or any of the other attractions in the area!

The hotel has been modernized- yet it has kept its historic ambience. The front desk staff was very helpful. The housekeeping staff missed a lot of details- but the front staff came through. The bar on the roof was fabulous! The location was excellent - Steps to Main Street restaurants and the many statue of all our presidents. The elevators are state of the art and take a little getting used to.

Everyone was very friendly and I enjoyed my stay a great deal!! Next time I’m in Rapid City I’m staying here again!

This hotel is not welcome to visitors. Be prepared for the bartender to call the police on you if you present an out of state ID or foreign passport. I was visiting my family and we were rushed by local authorities, separated, and questioned about our relation to each other. They informed us that the bartender called them because she was so unfamiliar with any tourism or gentlemen paying for the beverages of beautiful women. I hope she can travel a bit more, and understand the culture of the world. Storming your paying guests with police is a policy I think that should be reviewed.

The hotel was unique in character. The staff was friendly . The hours listed on the hotel website as far as food were not correct. So we missed out on food . But they did tell us about a pizza place close by . The hotel room had a swiffer duster and cleaning rag and bottle of shampoo left on the counter . Front desk didn’t care and said it must have been left there from an inspection. The next morning at 5am we were awakened by a large trash truck out our window . Also , we noticed there was no shower curtain in our room and we had to go down stairs and ask for one. The nice valet boy brought it to our room . It was clean enough for a one stay stay . But nobody seemed too concerned over the left over cleaning supplies and no shower curtain. Normally I do not write reviews but a few things could be addressed to make it better. It wasn’t the worst and wasn’t the best .

We booked a suite and it was very worn. Disappointing considering what we paid.
