Shade Hotel Redondo Beach

We were told we wouldn't be able to view the fireworks from our room. We had a great view. Had a great time. Place is pricey all around but for a nice splurge I'd say it's as good as it gets in the area. No one other than housekeeping was outstanding but none were rude or incompetent. Professional but I wouldn't call them welcoming. They seemed to light up when a augmented LA couple walked in but just looked busy when a middle class folk came by. Typical South Bay bias really.

We loved Shade! Our room was spacious and well equipped, and had a great view of the marina. We used the bikes everyday and enjoyed the food and cocktails at Sea Level. Their 4th of July rooftop party had the best view of fireworks in the bay!

ONLY THING FREE WAS THE CUP OF ICE . THEY GIVE U $20 SPENDING MONEY BUT I JUST SPENT $1200 ON ONE DAY 😂 I WILL COME BACK BUT THEY CAN KEEP THE $10 AWAY FROM MY ROOM 😂

Excellent staff, so kind and helpful. I loved the tub in the balcony, the 2nd TV in the room and the relaxing rooftop pool and showers. You can also hear wild seals nearby that was a great bonus. Walking distance from sighting them. Area is safe and clean. 5 minutes by bike from the beach to swim.

Front desk person was dishonest. After using my credit card in the hotels bar, she insisted both credit cards were blocked. Hotel manager retrieved the situation and used my credit card. Room was booked on the premise it was ready then. Front desk women deliberately lied.

My advice to anyone that is going to stay at shade. Redondo is a tricky answer. First, we were in room 304 and in the morning the room was very quiet with a beautiful view of the marina, but as soon as the kids and pets went up to the pool area. We felt like we had elephants on top of us incredibly noisy. I would say the same thing would happen on the first floor because you have people nonstop on the boardwalk right in front of your patio. The maid service was the best thing about our stay. They were lovely if you have lots of pets and lots of kids this is your spot.

It has a great venue for weddings & parties but you can definitely hear it all going on from your rooms Free bike Rental was a nice touch

LOVED the guy who checked us in. He made us feel right at home! Great staff and fabulous room amenities.

The booking advertised a free buffet breakfast for guests. Unfortunately the hotel does not offer this, but does provide a $20 credit at the restaurant instead. The breakfast we ordered was excellent.

A solutely the best place to stay in Redondo Beach !!

The food was decent, though not particularly memorable. It was satisfactory for a hotel restaurant, but not something I would specifically seek out again. Unfortunately, the condition of the room did not meet my expectations for the price point. The room showed noticeable signs of wear and deferred maintenance. There was peeling wallpaper, scratches and damage on several wood surfaces, minor mold around the ceiling area near the shower, and the closet door would not close completely. While none of these issues were severe individually, together they made the room feel tired and in need of refurbishment. Overall, the excellent staff helped make the stay enjoyable, but the hotel would benefit from updating and better maintaining its guest rooms. With some attention to these details, it could provide a much stronger guest experience.
