This place was incredibly relaxing , had a great stay with my daughter she enjoyed it being so close to the beach we played All morning with the beach toys the lend you it was so nice staff was also very friendly and I was able to find parking nearby .

Location can’t be beat. Desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Appreciated the beach chairs, towels and sunscreen they had to share. Appreciated the vintage charm, however they need to keep working on updates. No screens on windows was an issue. Also, there were no hooks anywhere in the room to hang towels (shower towels, or beach towels). Parking was also an issue- we were supposed to get a pass for free meter parking but they didn’t have any to offer so we were constantly shuffling cars in their side lot.

I never saw the person who runs it although they were responsive to texts and seemed pleasant in exchanges. Overall it is a no-frills, older structure that is very unique in its spot right on the beach in Hermosa. That is its great charm-it's location. Really wonderful location. I imagine at another time when it isn't under renovation, and with an owner or manager on the property to service the guests experience it woudl be different. I love the idea of old-school properties with apartment/hotel characteristics so I root for this spot. I just wouldn't stay here again until I was sure of its' conditions and on cooler days.

The Vurpillat Beachfront Hotel is a true gem in Hermosa Beach. The location is perfect because you are on the beach and a few steps from all the restaurants and shops. My family and I enjoyed our room -the bed was so comfortable and cozy! The staff is beyond friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend anyone to stay here whether it will be a family, friends, or romantic getaway.

A quaint mid century bldg with modernized rooms. Nice view from my room even though it was minimized in the original description. It’s right on the Strand and easy walk to ocean or Pier. Very attentive staff on check in and an overall great experience.

We loved it here! The staff were amazing! The location is as advertised; We could walk to restaurants and bars. We will be back!

Of the noise traffic from people walking by ) with this place being a hotel and residential place , the long term residents like to sit out front on the strand and socialize . There should be a time Restriction to do so . We experienced they like To hang out till 1-2 in the am , we can appreciate people on vacation having a good time. We can also appreciate people wanting to relax and get some sleep while on vacation . Other than crew outside of our window ( who by the way were very nice people and sociable , love the doggy happy hour as well ) we will definitely be back .

Awesome crew from upgrading our room to holding our luggage so we could still enjoy our time at Hermosa beach til we had to leave. The guest that live there are the best. Everyone was very welcoming. They have dog happy hour. Omg it's the cutest. All the dogs know about it too! If you stay here say hi to Jay the owner, Logan the receptionist, David, Ronnie and Stephanie which are locals that live there. We all had an amazing time.

We enjoyed our stay at the Vurpillat Beachfront Hotel! The location is perfect if you want to spend the day at the beach and/or bar hoping…you are literally a few step away from both. The staff is SUPER friendly and made us feel right at home. My family and I are looking forward to returning next summer!

Incredibly friendly staff. If you want to feel like you actually live in Hermosa Beach then this is the place. Great location!

Jay and staff very helpful

Spacious room and bathroom. Kitchen was complete with some dishes and cutlery. Full fridge and top freezer. Stove worked great, just know it's a smaller sized oven. We cooked frozen boxed pizzas, just know an actual pizza pan or full size pan/sheet may not fit! It was not a negative, just noted! Decent parking available on and off site.

Jay the owner was very helpful, the location was perfect and was central to everything. You can walk out and the beach was 5 feet away. Rooms are historic with charm. Would definitely stay again.

It is on the Strand in Hermosa Beach, and a short walk to shops and restaurants as well as the Hermosa Pier. The windows need an upgrade

This should definitely be viewed as more of a hostel than a hotel. The staff was friendly and super nice and the location is unbeatable but the room and the building are pretty dated. Our room didn’t have AC so we cracked the windows that didn’t have screens and got munched by mosquitoes all night. The shower and bathroom were so small it definitely reminded me of a European hostel setup. The price is right though for the location.

Love the location and the vibe. But under some renovation at time and so kind of old ugly on outside. So cute and old school inside. Loved our stay.
