H2O Hermosa Beach Hotel

The staff is wonderful. 2 min walk to the beach. 5 min walk to the pier and all the restaurants. 10/10. Second time staying here and plan to keep coming back for staycations

We had a great stay with girlfriends celebrating a milestone birthday. Loved that we could all stay in the same room (4 total, 2 comfortable queen beds). Really helpful and friendly staff, great complimentary breakfast and fantastic location right next to the beach. Would definitely recommend!

Location was wonderful. So close to the beach but nice and quiet. Property was nice, room was nice and big, hotel offered complimentary use of beach chairs, umbrellas, towels, etc. as well as a light continental breakfast. Rooftop is really nice with the fire tables too but the friendly staff was the best part. We didn’t ask and maybe it was just missing but there was bo luggage tack in the room. That was really the only “issue”. Everything else was great!

We strongly advise other travelers to think carefully before booking this hotel. Unfortunately, our experience with H2O Hermosa was extremely disappointing, both in terms of the condition of the rooms and the way our complaint was handled afterward. This hotel was the first stop on our four-week trip through the United States. After a long flight, we had planned to spend three relaxing days in Hermosa Beach with our two children. We had booked two rooms and arrived in the evening to check in. Unfortunately, both rooms had a very strong musty smell, and the beds felt damp and clammy. As we were traveling with our seven-year-old child, who has asthma, staying in these rooms was simply not an option for us. Because the hotel was fully booked, the staff were unable to offer us any alternative rooms. We therefore had no choice but to leave the hotel and find other accommodation at short notice. We eventually found another hotel in Torrance, where we stayed for the following three nights. The front desk staff told us that we should return the following morning and speak with the General Manager, Tyrone, who they said would be able to find a solution. However, when we returned the next morning, he was not at the hotel, and despite calling him five times, we were unable to reach him. We immediately filed a complaint through Booking.com. Despite the fact that we did not spend a single night at H2O Hermosa, the hotel retained the full booking amount of approximately €2,500 and has not refunded us a single cent. We also found Booking.com's handling of the matter very disappointing, as no satisfactory solution has been offered to us so far. To be fair, the hotel is in a very good location and the property looks attractive in the photographs. However, based on our personal experience, the condition of the rooms was unacceptable for a hotel in this price category. Both rooms smelled strongly of damp and mold, and the beds and room environment felt noticeably humid.

Hotel is in a great location but the room had a bit of a smoky smell and felt a bit dated.

My husband and I visit Hermosa Beach twice annually. This boutique hotel meets our expectations, particularly during holiday weekends. The staff are highly accommodating, and the establishment is both clean and welcoming.

Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Tad on the expensive side.

This is a beautiful boutique hotel perfectly located just steps from the beach. The customer service is excellent and the staff are very accommodating. Can’t wait to come back.

What a great location, and what lovely people working there. We felt completely pampered. We loved the free parking, the proximity to the beach, the beach towels and chairs, and the second floor terrace with the fire pit. We’ll definitely be back.

Our family really enjoyed our stay at H20. Front staff was incredible from the moment you arrive. Location was perfect. Close to everything you need within walking distance. Beach is only a block away and it was a bonus to get beach towels and an umbrella. The hotel is fairly new so everything feels fresh and new. Would stay again without hesitation.
