Hermitage Hotel Richmond Virginia

There was nothing good about this hotel. Expedia shouldn’t even have it on this website. It’s a scam! Pictures are complete misrepresentations. We checked in late at night planning for a three night stay. The lobby didn’t have accessible restrooms, the doors were chained closed. The stairs were flagged and chained off limits. Not like we needed to access these areas in the lobby but that’s concerning. Especially the lack of the restroom. We pull around to our room and the parking lot was iffy, but no different than any cheap hotel. Our room was on the first floor and the outdoor access “patio” was blocked off so we were told to go through in the inside hall. Approaching the breezeway, we see particle board blocking off one of the buildings entryways. Ok… we enter our building to an absurdly strong smell of cigarettes, mold, mildew, must, and the feces of a million infested creatures, and this smell persisted, at the same strength, into our room. The first walk in the hallway you see at least 6 cameras, a permanently out of order elevator, a light fixture hanging from wires, seemingly once caught fire. The room was filthy, stains on all of the mattress, lamps, walls, towels, etc. Again, the smell persisted. Who knows if the AC worked. Didn’t even check for bedbugs because we immediately walked out and found a different hotel. I don’t know how this hotel is legally open. If they’re under renovation, it’s not safe or accessible for anyone to stay there.

Very old and dated smells like mold

NA For starters, when you first are “welcomed” into the facilities, you get this amazing staff that takes twenty minutes to even get to you. We had to drive around the facility just to get to our right room, as well as when you walk into the halls, it smells like mildew and weed. The pillows had stains, the sheets had holes, the outlets couldn’t even be called outlets, and lastly, the shower was even worse.

The room was ridiculously nasty. The refrigerator was unplugged and dirty inside and the bed comforter has cigarette holes in them about 50. The room was dirty. It stunk the bed was very itchy even though I didn’t see any bugs, but I would not recommend staying here no breakfast was at the hotel as they say there were and we were on the fourth floor with no elevator.

IT was really , running around to get a good room to stay and I still was not satisfied , because the bottom of air conditioner fell off ,the first room the shower was broken ,it was just crazy, I would like my mom back. Remote didn't have a back piece on it.

Mold in the bathroom ceiling, elevator broke and very hot in the hallways going up the stairs, fighting from other hotel guests in the middle of the night, when I checked in the customer serious was poor and I wasn’t greeted wash clothes and towels dirty

The huge rats on property The homeless people laying in the hallways The fighting and fussing about drugs from other people on property The fact that online through this site the price was cheaper for double beds. So once the manager found out about this he put that their were no double beds he would only you get double beds if you came on property and he charged almost 50 dollars more!!!. Room leaks from air conditioner toilets and showers!!! They do nothing to help or accommodate you in any way. Me and my grandkids stayed sick due to mold and other unsanitary things in there. I called the health inspector no one ever came out and they never got back with me. They are to close the end of the year I wouldn't give them a dime of your money!!!!!!

Lacked up keep in room amenities- weak AC and spring beds. We ended up getting bed bugs and had to check out early. Do not remember. Expensive and not safe.
