Frequently asked questions
How far in advance should I book hotels for a company retreat in Richmond?
For a team offsite, start looking at least 8 to 12 weeks out, especially if you need multiple rooms and meeting space during busy travel periods. Booking early gives you more options and often better rates. Engine lets you search and compare properties so you can move quickly once your dates are set.
Can Engine help with both the guest rooms and the meeting space for our offsite?
Yes. For the guest-room block, Engine Groups handles stays of 9 or more rooms, and you can book self-serve if you need 8 or fewer. For the meeting or event space, you can find and request venues through Engine Spaces, which connects you to meeting and event options across Richmond.
How does billing work when I book multiple rooms for my team?
Engine offers consolidated invoicing, so you get one bill for the group instead of separate charges per room. You have multiple payment options, and there's no membership fee to use the platform.
What should I look for in a hotel for a team offsite in Richmond?
Focus on properties with enough meeting rooms and event space to fit your agenda. The Jefferson Hotel offers about 26,000 square feet and 19 meeting rooms, while the Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa/Short Pump has about 22,000 square feet and 11 meeting rooms. You'll also want a room count that can house your group and on-site facilities that support your schedule.
What amenities can my team expect at these hotels?
Most offsite properties offer parking, wifi, on-site dining, and fitness facilities, though specifics vary by hotel. Features like AV equipment, catering, and breakout-room setups depend on the property, so confirm those details when you request your meeting space.
