Very nice hotel the parking is not free

Excellent all around.

Very well positioned in downtown Richmond. A nice restaurant and snack shop located inside the lobby. Easy to and from the airport which made it very convenient.

Loved the M Lounge. Worth it for the availability of snacks and drinks. Great coffee machine that makes espresso and lattes, etc. Nice gym, friendly staff, and a comfortable lobby with soft lighting and several fireplaces.

The restaurant in the Marriott had absolutely the best food. It was a bit pricey but worth every penny. The rooms were nicely decorated and comfortable. My toilet would flush only part of the time. Called for service, but got it going minutes later, so I canceled the service. Only later to find out that the flush was not working again.

Overall average facility. Nothing especially remarkable. It was clean and adequate for a two night stay. Secretly charged a smoking fee of $350. Was not mentioned at checkout and was only found when looking at a SECOND invoice sent. When disputing this the front desk was extremely indifferent and could not give me the contact information of the “third party” responsible for the penalty. I was given a Smoking Dispute Form via email which had to be converted to a word document before it could be filled out and sent back to an email that did not respond. I had to call back multiple times just to even find out if they received the form. I was again met with an annoyed and desperately unbothered employee. The closest thing to empathy or compassion was the statement “I understand “ and that nationwide Marriotts were in the process of ending the contract with REST (the third party smoke detectors) after July 1. A specific timeline to anticipate was vaguely defined regarding response to my dispute.

Bedding: The mattresses are hard. They are not very comfortable if you are not used to sleeping on a hard mattress. Restaurant (FL Restaurant): Limited Selections, if you choose to dine there. Breakfast was satisfactory.

Rusty and dusty ventilation units in the room and bathroom…plumbing issues with the toilet and shower Clean air ducts and a more improved aesthetic in the rooms considering the price.

The Marriott Hotel in downtown Richmond is in an excellent location to visit the city and take in its history and culture. This is an older property and it does occasionally show its age at times. We did find the staff to be very helpful in addressing and resolving any issues that arose. They made our stay very pleasant and we would definitely return there.

Loved the rooms and I enjoyed the shower. Loved everything!
